Good reason not to use X64

Has anybody other than me read the THREADS and seems over 90% of all problems are x64 Related.
I am on several Forums around, and weither it is Win 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7.
x64 dominates the forums with problems...
Maybe the forum should be split. into x86 and x64.
I have also read many threads, where it is more often later that the OS Version is stated as x64.

Jam the extra memory and install a very reliable working version with FAR FEWER problems.
Windows XX - version X86 or 32Bit.

When attemption to assiste someone I get annoyed when they SAY "It does not work that way in my OS - I'm using x64." Others say only real Techs use X64. I have learned - since Im a retired Computer Shop Owner Operator. I would have made 3x the money If I had sold X64 and recommended X64 over x32.

Such a shame, If only I had known - all the Money I lost by not offering X64 versions of Windows.

Using the same logic, you could have recovered that "lost" revenue by installing 32-bit drivers improperly. But that is another story.

I could have made a lot more money being a televangelist.

But, on point, it is to be expected that the introduction of a "new" technology will have a higher number of incident reports compared to an "older" technology being upgraded.

Or maybe its because the majority of people who have installed Win7 thus far are x64 users? If 95% of the userbase is x64, its reasonable to assume that 95% of the problems will be from users who use x64.

i've also noticed a lot of problems with ati and nvidia graphic cards.

maybe if they used other chips they wouldn't have so many problems?

X64 problems are also due to the failure to recognize the communities adoption of 64bit computing, on the part of the hardware and software manufacturers.

I think it's shameful how many manufacturers leave their customers in the cold.

Mind you, Vista 64 is almost 3 yrs old.

MS has released so many Win7 pre builds, beta's and subsequent releases, one would think the manufacturers had ample time to have drivers ready by now.

What to think of dual and quad core support?
How many programs out there are actually optimized for multi core?

First AMD Dual core dates back to late 2005.
