Newbie here. I've been having trouble running a program called Plex (becomes unresponsive after some time but does not crash) and after a week of troubleshooting, I was able to verify that it was Windows causing the issue. I noticed that when I opened task manager, "Host Process for Windows Tasks" would be pushing the CPU to over 50%. A user on another forum told me to check the event log. There were errors with "svchost" and an item that had "tasks" at the beginning. I also ran sfc /scannow - "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them". I've uploaded the CBS.log because I'm not familiar with the terminology. Could somebody please help me?

I've already ran sfc /scannow. I attached the results to the first post as CBS.log. That's what I'm having trouble with is figuring out what's causing the corrupt files.

You state in post #1 that you install a program called Plex and you are having problems sense. Then you state you discovered it's a Windows 7 problem.
How about it's a Plex problem and removing that program and then doing a sfc /scannow as per instruction given in post #3 by Yard Dog.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

@Yard Dog: I don't have the installation DVD anymore

@Layback Bear: I ran the SFC /SCANNOW 3 times and restart after each time and I also ran it when Plex was not installed.

Before following these instructions, can you insert your Windows disc? Don't run anything off it, just leave it in the tray so SFCFix can read from it. If you don't have one then just ignore this.

SFCFix

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

 1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
 2. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
 3. Double click on SFCFix to run it. Follow the on screen instructions.
 4. Copy (Ctrl + C) and Paste (Ctrl + V) the contents of the log, SFCFix.txt, found on your Desktop, into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.
