Targetted personally by hackers with a grudge

Back in July I had my data compromised by a hacker as well as my email. I know this because one of the hackers openly mocked me. I also had several email accounts hacked, I know this for two reasons one my gmail account said it was accessed in China, and another I was mocked on a forum the guy said who wouldn't hack that email and told me my email password. My computer has been doing things I never told it to do, files have been opening up when I start up my computer. One time a desktop icon was even renamed just to show me they have complete access to my system. These hackers have a personal grudge against me, it's not some mere prank. I am concerned can the hackers install files without a trace that can fool even computer forensic experts if they were good enough and motivated enough. I mean for instance install illegal porn then cover all of their tracks. The grudge is very personal with these people it's went beyond some mere game. I've been tempted to contact the FBI even at this point because I am concerned. I've done rookie mistakes like click on links posted on websites in forums that most likely had something I read called cross scripting or something in them that can make your computer do things you never told it to do ect. I am concerned they did make my system do things and if these people are good enough and motivated enough can they leave no trace. I have windows 7. One of the hackers even laughed and said you thought that was just a youtube video, I have no idea what that meant, was there something embedded in the youtube link script wise or whatever? I made some enemies that would have very personal reasons and be motivated enough to do all of these things. Should I file a police report? I should have been documenting everything as well. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

ye sit is possible but what i would do is wipe your hdd and reisntall windows offline and install something like comodo firewall for better protection. and alert your isp that this keeps happening to you and they should watch your line for illegal activity. beyond this idk what you could beyond getting a ids which would be insane.

I got involved in something I wish I never set foot in and I have made some enemies some of whom are powerful. I was naive and at this point I feel my life is no longer in my control. It's that insane. I was just wondering if these people could even fool the real experts. That scares me even more that you said yes. I am being targeted by a hacker group or groups. At this point in certain circles it's viral even. I just don't know what to do. I'm being targeted and was targeted by some pro's who have a very real grudge and agenda that seems to be trying to ruin my life. I guess I'll contact law enforcement to at least get it on file and call my ISP thanks for your advice.

You can try contacting the police, but I'd doubt you'd get the result you want. Certainly contact your ISP, but again there may not be much they can do.

By all means document all evidence of direct threats/statements

They sound a little script kiddies doing it for the 'lulz' (fun of it) - Taking control of anothers machine isn't really that hard to do with the right tools and a bit of knowledge.


Whats done is done, it's know time to focus on correcting it and learning from the mistake.

As you obviously know, your system has been compromised severely and it's extremely difficult to know what they've installed in being able to remote in. They could be using the built in Remote connection, an app like Teamviwer or many variants of such. There's quite few available. Have a look at this wiki to see if any of the names look similiar either as installed app, or a process.

For the built in remote, try pressing Win+Pause/Break key > Remote settings > and untick Allow remote Assistance and Don't allow Remote connections.




Then have a look a this wiki page to see if any installed apps appear in your programs list

The hackers may not even be using Windows. Once comprised it's very easy to do what you like to a PC - install anything, add keyloggers access documents etc.


Since your machine is so compromised, in this case I would suggest unplugging the net and doing a fresh format/installation of windows. Do not attempt to change passwords with this current installation.

Then the laborious part of changing every single password. Hope you didn't save the password for this site.

Any chance of a screenshot of your running processes? ie like this (yours will look different as I am on Windows 8)



CTRL+Shift+Esc to open task manager and then use the snipping tool (type snip) in the search box and take a pic or two of ALL your running processes. Then upload the pics here using the paperclip attachment




EDIT:

I'd contact your ISP after you've cleaned everything. If you have a fixed IP address, get them to change it.

Once you r issue is resolve - start another thread on the best way of securing your machine including setting 3rd party firewalls, router settings etc

Long story but all true it's really that crazy.

These people also have every google search I've ever done as well as anything I looked at on youtube ect. What worries me is if they can do something with a script that makes my computer download stuff or install files on a hidden file since they have such access to my system. These people aren't your normal script kiddies as far as I know. As far as I know my whole situation went viral in certain circles. I just want something on record about how I've had my data compromised since July or August and how hackers are accessing my computer and changing stuff, I believe I clicked on some bait links as well and I read that they can do something with scripts or something that can make your computer do something you don't want it to. It's went way beyond merely harassing someone they are trying to ruin my life now for some reason.

I called my ISP and they said send my IP address to an email. Well for some reason even in command prompt I can't get my IP address even when I type that one command to get your IP address. They have never seen that they said. I'm just afraid these people will do something like install illegal porn on my computer and then try getting me in trouble they would do something like that in a heartbeat if they could leave no trace behind which is my worry. I've never dealt with such sadistic people in all of my life. There may even be a website or a blog out there impersonating me or where they are releasing information and supposed information about me.

I know how this sounds, it's that one and seven billion chance. What happened is I was ranting against the government being stupid most likely due to being manic, yes being bipolar is hard and I got people's attention. Some of these same people are now claiming I'm in trouble with the government. I don't know if I'm being trolled or what I did feed into their harassment a lot and now it's an Esport to some hackers out there, but when you've been hacked like I've been you become really paranoid. I did have allow remote access checked too go figure. It's been three months since this all began. The one community this whole ordeal would be known to the most is the site Zerohedge. It started from some comments I made on youtube video comment's section then spread from there. The hackers even openly mock me on the Zerohedge comments section. For instance one time a posted said this is NSA we are doing this for your own good now pay your taxes. Or another time in a semi crpytic reply but obvious if you were me a posted said who wouldn't hack that the password was 12345 ( nod to spaceballs) it was one of my many emails but still the fact it's gone that far is insane. They know I read the comments section due to having I guess total access to my system.

The initial people behind this posted stuff on a forum there I believe to gain attention to trolling me and making it get bigger. I fed into the harassment a lot because at the time as I said I really did think it was the government due to as I said being manic and having a nervous breakdown and all I did was give them more ammo comedy wise. This whole thing though has taken a more sinister turn now, I really do believe these people are out for blood so to speak and would stoop to doing something like I mentioned which concerns me. I am defenseless against these people I'm no tech guy and I fed into the harassment a lot by thinking the worst. Sorry for the long reply any help would be much appreciated.

Can't really see a process that is used by the hacker, For me it's really difficult to catch a hacker without infecting your computer with a virus so the hacker can steal informations, and important files. For now just install a powerful Firewall on your computer then do what smarteyeball said, download a keylogger to ensure everything that the hacker does is monitored or limited.

Thanks for the reply, like I said this whole situation has gotten me so paranoid. I unfortunately suffer from a mental illness, and when something like this happens it just makes things a lot worse. When sadistic people target you because it's fun to torment someone when you're already in a bad state it just make things worse. I'm not smart enough to defend myself against this kind of attack too well. They sure picked the right target to harass I fed into it sadly. It's been going on since August this harassment so who knows what they did by now. I know a lot of stuff went viral in certain circles because of how I reacted to it, I kept feeding into things. It's a game now tormenting someone this bad. The world really is a cruel place at times so are people.

You'd be surprised (alarmed even) to know much windows has hidden in logs when it comes to searches/things you've looked at. There is a lot data hidden which is accessible to those in the know.

And I now agree you're up against more than simple script kiddies. Hackers do like doing stuff like this for the lulz (having fun)

Regardless of why you got their attention, you know have a chance to put and end to it.


My advice would be to now take your PC to a proper PC repairer and have them wipe your system, check for rootkits, keyloggers etc and get them to do a clean format and re-installation and secure it with a decent firewall (not any of the chain stores like best buy etc, they're largely useless).

Yes it will cost you money but unless you're confident enough to do it all your self - then your paranoia will keep eating at you and leave you wondering.

That's why I suggest you get someone who has the knowledge to do it all for you.
