What media did you use for the reinstall??

Please first try recreating Licensing Store.

Recreate the Licensing Store
Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-Click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator - accept the UAC prompt
Run the following commands in the Command Prompt window, using the Enter key at the end of each

net stop sppsvc
(wait until the service has stopped before entering the following lines)

CD %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
REN tokens.dat tokens.bar
net start sppsvc
slui.exe

After a couple of seconds the Windows Activation dialog will appear.
You may be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter your product key, or Activation may occur automatically.
If you are asked for your Key, use the one on the COA sticker on the machine's case

Reboot and Post back with a new MGADiag report.

(Note: the Line 'CD %win......\SoftwareProtectionPlatform' is all on one line - it may be broken in the Forum listing)

Thanks for your interest, but I have a genuine Win 7 Home Premium 6 bit which was packaged with a 'new' LENOVO H420 desktop (bought in 2011). I started getting errors at boot and eventually suffered boot failure at which point I tried LENOVO's One Key recovery from their hidden partition.
This did not work. so I downloaded Win 7 Home Premium ISO and clean installed that.
It worked for a while but now I'm getting the "This copy of windows is not genuine" notification. Tried online validation but not accepting my original key which came with the machine.

Interesting error message - 0xC004F050 - it's not one of the usual ones for Win7. - it does however indicate that the license code is invalid.

Please attempt validation at www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate using Internet Explorer - what happens??

...hmmm - Your installation of Office is counterfeit.

You 'reinstalled' Windows 7? - the Key you appear to have used is ONLY valid when using the Manufacturer's Recovery media.

For what version and edition of Windows is the COA sticker on the case (or inside the battery compartment) valid??

Interesting error message - 0xC004F050 - it's not one of the usual ones for Win7. - it does however indicate that the license code is invalid.

Please attempt validation at www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate using Internet Explorer - what happens??

Same as with Opera; 'evaluation period for this software expired".

That message is normally one which would only be seen with Beta releases.
Ah - I see what the problem is...

The problem is that your system is unable to properly read the BIOS SLIC table that should be present in the system to be able to self-activate the OS.

You need to change the Product Key to the one on the COA sticker on the machine's case (or inside the battery compartment), using the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System properties page.

You may need to activate by phone.

Ok,
I'll try the phone method, but that's the key which came with the machine and Belarc also identifies that as the OS key.
Thanks much, will post back to let you know of further developments,

Computers that come pre-installed with Windows from large manufacturers usually come with two Product Keys.

OEM SLP: This is the key that came in Windows (from the factory). It works by connecting to a BIOS flag (the SLIC table) found only on computers from that Manufacturer. It also checks for the existence of proper matching licenses in the OS itself. Once it sees both, it self-activates every time the machine is rebooted.

COA SLP: This is the key seen on the sticker located on the side, bottom or in the battery compartment of your machine. This key is for use if the OEM SLP self-activation stops working for whatever reason.

What I see is an ID # (20 digits) and the OS key (25 digits).
Hey, by the way; I also have a 3x Family pack which has not been fully utilised. Can I use the product key drom that to activate online instead of the original LENOVO one? Or can I use that to reinstall on my machine?

Please click Edit on your first post, use mouse to highlight the MGAdiag report results and then click the # symbol on Edit bar to include it all in a codebox so it doesn't display three screens wide.

If you audited the Product Key with Belarc when you had the factory pre-installed Win7 on the PC that is not the same key as on the COA sticker and it cannot be used to re-activate with a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Use the Product Key on the COA sticker. If you used a Win7 Premium installer and that's the version printed on your COA sticker then it will always activate. What usually happens is that a letter or number like 8 or B is transposed. But it's never failed to activate in tens of thousands of reinstalls we've helped with here.

Did you also delete all partitions as it says in tutorial, create and format a new one to get the cleanest install - as shown in Steps 7 and 8 of Clean Install Windows 7 which illustrate the actual install steps?

Hi Guys,
After a good night's rest and 'sleeping on it' I've solved my problem.
I tried the phone method but was asked to call back by the agent who answered my call.
While waiting on time I browsed other similar articles on your forum and found one which referred to using an upgrade license to activate. This morning I thought,'what the heck, I have nothing to lose'.
My options, garnered from your excellent articles seem limited to buying a new license or getting a LENOVO Rescue disk from somewhere; or reinstalling my old XP Pro then using my 3x Family Upgrade license to upgrade to Win 7 " was I on the right track in that last statement"?
Anyway this morning I was successful in activating using the 3x Family Upgrade license. So all's well that ends well, and my sincere thanks to all who directed their efforts to assist me in my hour of need.
