I tried logging onto my live mail account that I use for paypal and ebay, and I got this: "It looks like someone else might be using your account".
It then gives me a form to try and prove I am the person behind the account.
But the only thing I can remember to put in there is recent ebay transactions, and it doesn't ask for email i've received, only emails i've sent. So the link failed, and i'm still locked out.
Every single logon in there for the past two years comes from this IP address. But the biggest problem is that I have rarely ever sent an email from this address, as it as I only use it for ebay/paypal purchases. And the only thing the form seems to be interested in is sent mail.

And what's infuriating about this, is they've done this on all 3 of my accounts now in the past two years.
I don't even remember how I managed to get the other two accounts freed up, but it was a different form than I got tonight.

Edit*
One important point I should add here, they did this each time because I dared to logon to my account from another location/IP address.
Yes, that's right. Apparently Microsoft no longer condones you being able to be mobile with your email accounts.
Sigh.

At any rate, if someone has some sort of customer service link I could use to resolve this, it would be appreciated. But it seems that all the original customer service links from the outlook rollout are dead.

Oh and in truly ironic fashion, the email they sent me to my alternate account telling me that they couldn't verify me was flagged by live mail as failing their own fraud detection checks, lol!

more than 70 views, but no answers to this.

looks like a lot of people are trying to find solutions to the same problem.

and it looks like i'll just have to migrate my accounts to gmail finally, so I can get past absurd issues like this.

Well I checked out that forum, and there are no more answers than here.
Unfortunately it appears that Microsoft has gone completely automated on account recovery, and they threw everyone under the bus that only receives email from their address.
I've never used any email or OS from anyone other than Microsoft, but it looks like the days of their true customer support are over.
Mods go ahead and lock this, the answer is that you cannot recover an email address that you don't send mail from.

The worst part is that every single thread like this that you find on the internet winds up with hundreds of views. Clearly there are a lot of people running into the same jam with this.
Oh well, let's see what Gmail has to offer.
