I've gotten access, and it's actually 8 keys for Windows 7 Pro, as the keys are not dependent on architecture or language, so if you get a foreign language key it will still work on an English install, and x64 will work on x86 and vice-versa.

I've gotten access, and it's actually 8 keys for Windows 7 Pro, as the keys are not dependent on architecture or language, so if you get a foreign language key it will still work on an English install, and x64 will work on x86 and vice-versa.

I got the email wanting the extra verification. This after a week of using the OS.
I wonder if I don't reply then the key's blacklisted...and if so, I imagine I could just use the retail key I get on Oct 22 without having to go through the hassle of doing another full install.

But of course maybe everything will be ok. I switched my info to my son's highschool and he gave me his ID number--but he didnt know who is advisor is. LOL. Just like a HS Junior that plays too much XBOX Live not to know.

Shoulda went that rte in the first place, but--ahem--I think more than several folks, me included, just couldnt wait and instead of learning all the ins and outs we got overly excited and "just signed up".

I doubt they can blacklist the keys, but just in case I gave them my uni info... British unis don't use the same terms as US.. so I put my Personal Tutor's name as my Faculty Advisor.. didn't know if they are the same thing..:sarc:

Well if I opted in on the 8th and it's the 14th... 6 days.

I should also add I'm a legit student and contacted my advisor myself on the 9th by phone to say she may be contacted by MSDN-AA for verification.

Well, before the Recent Verification Update, it took only 1-2 Working days to get the MSDNAA Verfied. but it seems like its taking a bit more time after recent addition to the requirement page(Advisor Name + Student ID).
Hope you'll get that mail soon

I'm from the UK if it matters, not USA.

And for the record, my advisor confirmed today they did contact her for verification by email. So they are verifying, at least I can confirm on some scale.

No idea how that will affect those that have signed up and aren't students if they start to pursue accounts that have already been accepted.

As MSDNAA registers you as a ACM Student student, they use your ACM student email ([email protected]) So in the future all the MSDNAA emails will be forwarded to [email protected].
But automatically ACM forwards all the emails that you recieve for [email protected] to the email that you used to signup for ACM.

Make sure you check your Spam/Junk for any ACM or MSDNAA mails
