Hi. My computer has been crashing very often recently with the BSOD saying, "Driver_Power_State_Failure." It is a refurbished computer form Windows XP, running Windows 7 with an Intel Prentium D processor. I have tried to fix it but nothing I have tried worked. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

If you have any device connected to the USB ports, safely remove and unplug them from the system for the time being.

Code:
Start Menu\Programs\Advanced SystemCare 7	Public:Start Menu\Programs\Advanced SystemCare 7	Public
This software is a known cause of BSOD's. The windows 7 operating system does not require these registry cleaning software. They often tune-down rather than tune-up and can wreck the OS beyond repair. Microsoft have improved Windows 7 significantly and it is much better at organising and optimising itself than its predecessors. Check this, this and this thread for evidence. If you feel the need to use a registry cleaning or optimisation software, most of us recommend the use of CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download but make sure you back up the registry before making letting ccleaner delete anything. 10 Tips on How to Properly Maintain Your Computer

Trend micro can be a cause of BSOD. Please remove it for testing purpose. Use Microsoft Security Essentials.

Recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability compared to other security software:

Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

Malwarebytes - Free

Thank You

Thank you for helping me with this now I will just have to see if the problem arises again. Just a few questions. Are the temperatures of the motherboard (40c) and storage (48c) OK? If not is there a way to fix that? Also, do you know of any way to restore the registry, if parts of it may have gotten messed up? Thank again!

That sounds okay to me.

That's alright. Have you run the SFC command?
