This is my system:
Lenovo H535
Processor: AMD A10-5700k Trinity APU @ 3.4ghz
Allocated RAM: 8gb (6.01 usable)
GPU: Integrated ATI Radeon 7660d
Motherboard Chipset AMD A75
4MB L2 Cache

What I'm asking is basically how do I force Windows 7 to use all 8gb worth of memory?
Where's the other 2gb going? :|

Probably reserved for hardware as a guess.

Go to task manager and then resource monitor, where you will see details of how memory is allocated. Windows does a pretty good job of it.

There it is: 2034 hardware reserved. Over 2 GB. For the video card, I assume.

You are using less than 2 GB, so you have no problems.

Do you have an on-board video that shares the RAM ?

I have an integrated GPU, since my processor is an APU. It uses 764mb.

Hmm, that does not account for all of it. But you may be right. It could be a board restriction although 6GB would be an odd number.

SO there's not a way to increase my used ram up to 7.0?

Going from your picture, you have 8192 installed and 2034 reserved, meaning the difference of 6158 is available, with that hardware. At that time, you were using 1577, with about 4400 unused.

I don't know that you can force anything else with that hardware, but there's no indication you need more than you have. Windows uses what's available when it needs it.

I'd start worrying about it if I looked in resource monitor and saw that I had say only 1000 unused on a regular basis, or at least some indication that you were bumping up against the ceiling.

Do you have any indication of that type?

Think of the things you do with the PC regularly. Think of the things that put the most stress on it. Do those things. While doing them, see how much RAM you are using.

If you still have 1000 or more unused when stressed, I'd worry about something else.

You can, of course, do something that causes Windows to use all that is available---but that might be something that is far more stressful than you would actually do in so-called real life.

Check the board specifications first before you do anything.
