Hi all, I might need your help to solve my problems here
I bought this dell studio 1555 laptop few years back and been using it without any problem till suddenly it crashed when i was working.
BSOD and wont start up the windows, so I took it to the pc repair for data backup and clean re-install the windows 7 with its original disc
I noticed the not genuine on the bottom right corner after the SP1 update.
re-activate windows but asked to activate with not genuine on the bottom right corner each time after restarting my laptop. I had this loop over and over again
I tried the phone activation and the automated machine said that the key is invalid, so I spoke with the microsoft guy, he told me that my win7 is an upgrade and I need to have previous os installed before upgrading to 7
after googling, I found out that a double install could solve the problem. so I uninstall the SP1 update and did an upgrade to win7 home premium on top of my win7 home premium.
then again, after the SP1 update it becomes not genuine.
for the second time, I did the phone activation and had the same result from the automated machine: "key is not valid." but this time the microsoft guy just told me that my key is not valid without any further explanation
tried to uninstall the SP1 update again, but this time it wont uninstall. restarted at 7% then fails at 13% (I did the process several times with the same result)
right now I'm stuck and dont know what else to do except to input the slmgr /rearm command

Here is my MGAD report (but its after the slmgr /rearm command and activating windows):

From the looks of it, you have a machine delivered with Vista, and applied the 'freeby' upgrade that was available at the time?

The problem in the second report is that the install Key has changed to the default one - which can never be activated.
There is no obvious problem in the first report, apart from your having a counterfeit installation of Office (which should be uninstalled)

You need to re-apply the Key from your upgrade license to the machine, and activate that - you may need to use telephone activation if you've used it a few times already.

I suspect that your problem is a race condition on startup - often caused either by over-zealous Anti-Virus (Norton, anyone?) - or malware itself.
What AV is currently installed?
What other AV's have EVER been installed?

What other security software is installed?

yes, my machine comes with vista and I applied the 'freeby' upgrade that was available at the time.
what do you mean by the install Key has changed to the default one? (on my second report)

the thing is, when I re-apply the win7 upgrade Key, my windows is activated and becomes genuine as I stated on my first report.
but if I reboot the machine, it deactivate and becomes not genuine *confused*

I always use kaspersky products, either kaspersky antivirus or kaspersky internet security
recently, I installed the 2014 kaspersky internet security trial but decided to revert back to the 2013 one
and I have ccleaner installed too

Are you using anything like Spybot's TeaTimer?
There is no way that the system should be showing 24 days - except 6 days after install.

This implies that the problem is a locked registry - or the system is reverting back to a Last Known Good Configuration type of registry.

Please open Event Viewer
In the left pane, navigate to the Windows Logs
right-click on Applications and select 'Save all events as...' save as Apps.evtx
repeat for the System logs - save as Sys.evtx
Compress both files, and attach to your reply or upload to your favourite fileshare site (preferably Dropbox or OneDrive/SkyDrive) and post a link in your reply

never use anything like Spybot's TeaTimer, I don't even know what it is
I got that "24 days to activate" because I used the slmgr /rearm command via command prompt few days ago (as I stated on my first post)

here is the link to the files you asked:

The thing is that the countdown should start from the time that the system realises it's not activated - and since your system was definitely active pre-reboot, that timer should have been set back to 30 days at that point.
Since it's not been reset, there must be something dragging the registry back to the point before the activation took place.

I can't see any relevant errors in either event log :( - although I can see the license changing first to the proper one, and then back to the Default one.

The timestamp, I think I can see changing as well - but it's not changing in the way I would expect (which may be my error, rather than the system's)

I need to play with a VM, and see if I can force it into some kind of similar state. This could take a day or two, so don't run away. If you haven't heard back from me by Wednesday evening, please shout!

IE11/12/Edge/Chrome/FF(if I must)
The thing is that the countdown should start from the time that the system realises it's not activated - and since your system was definitely active pre-reboot, that timer should have been set back to 30 days at that point.
Since it's not been reset, there must be something dragging the registry back to the point before the activation took place.

I don't know the technical behind this activation or registry, but that's what happen with my machine.
it keeps counting down, not set back to 30 days
that's why I did the slmgr /rearm command, getting back at least 30 days to work around without any annoying windows is not genuine message every time after reboot

If you haven't heard back from me by Wednesday evening, please shout!

thank you for your help so far sir
will kindly wait for your replies :)
