Solved computer wont load windows on boot up

I would appreciate it if you or your colleagues could guide me as Bios updating if I get it wrong could would render my pc useless
These is the BIOS updates for that board but being an older one I would be very cautious about attempting a BIOS update and personally would certainly not go above version 1101
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download M2N32-SLI Premium VISTA Edition but this is the Vista one as there is no choice for anything in Windows 7
As a matter of interest as I have not read the entire thread that well what version do you have onboard now??

Also this is the entire list of updates / drivers and again nothing for Windows 7 ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download M2N32-SLI Premium VISTA Edition this includes some BIOS flash tools but not being acquainted with them am not sure as to what they actually do.

Here is the instructions Asus gives to update the Bios on your board. I would use the last option. It's pretty easy to do as long as you don't lose power or turn off the computer during the update. I copied the instructions because for some reason I couldn't insert the direct link.

Troubleshooting :
Update BIOS to improve hardware support
Page Tools

Solution In this situation, please try the latest BIOS. We recommend you to use AFUDOS to update BIOS. You need to unzip it to get the ROM file.

You should use the command as follows:

AFUDOS /i[biosname]

or, afudos /i A:\BIOSNAME.rom(if the BIOS file is in the floppy disk)

You can store your BIOS into a floppy disk or a hard disk with FAT format. Then, you will be able to use AFUDOS to access the BIOS ROM file.

If it is not convenient for you to use DOS and AFUDOS, you can try to use EZ Flash. You can save the BIOS file into a flash disk then boot the system and enter BIOS, then you can update your BIOS by EZ Flash which is in the BIOS Tools page. Please load the default settings in BIOS after you have succeeded updating BIOS.

Then you need to ask back as many questions as you need to get a step done, not just ignore it. We will not continue to help someone who ignores half the steps.

First try to install the drivers by right clicking the .exe to Run As Administrator. If one will not install then right click to Troubleshoot Compatibility. If it suggests reinstalling in Vista mode, then proceed to do so as shown in Compatibility Mode.

Some drivers may not have an .exe to run to install. For those you'd browse from the device Driver tab in Device Manager to the unzipped driver file - click on Extract files link at the top of a zipped folder to extract to a location where you can find them - to try to pick up the driver. If necessary ask for more help.

OK. You have a different board than I do, although all my boards are Asus too, so I assume the process is the same. It's quite simple, just so long as you are not real concerned that the board will BSOD during the update. Format a USB as FAT32, what they come formatted as. Download the BIOS file it should have a name of the bios number.ROM in a zip file. Unzip the file to the flash drive. With the flash drive inserted in the computer, enter BIOS, go to the asus EZ Flash and click that you want to update using EZ Flash. It should automatically find the flash drive and show you the bios number. As I recall, you highlight the bios.rom file and click next, you will get a confirmation of do you want to flash this bios, click yes and next. Just be patient while it finishes. It should take 2 or 3 minutes. When finished, the computer will reboot. Go straight to bios and select load optimized defaults, set you sata controller to what it is right now, set your ram timings, frequency and voltage to what they are right now, and set your boot order, save and exit. you should boot into Windows. Sometimes later you may have to go back to bios and set the date and time, sometimes you won't.

It's really a pretty simple procedure. Once you get to the EZ flash in bios and it finds the bios file (sometimes you have to find it yourself) the rest is just following instructions. Just do not stop it once it starts, if you do, it can brick your motherboard.

I hope those instructions were simple enough to understand. Again, it's quite simple once you get to EZ Flash in BIOS. If you have problems, feel free to ask. I don't mind at all.

I gave you very specific steps to try to install your chipset and SATA drivers, including in Compatibility Mode if necessary, and you replied about Driver Detective which I've already told you is not advisable for Win7.

So it's impossible to know what kind of install you have and if its been the actual problem all along.

Have you wiped the HD with Diskpart Clean command then installed and run with only the drivers supplied by Windows Update? If you want to start over and let us walk you through a diagnostic install then you would need to control old school impulses to stick only with the steps given.

Good work installing latest BIOS as per our instructions. You have the latest which is what's needed.

Yes I did format with diskpart and reinstalled with windows update if you want me to do another clean install with diskpart I will then do windows update so should I go ahead as format will take 90 minutes

Are you talking about you hard drive or the USB drive. Unless GrerRocker told you otherwise, a quick format wouldn't take 45 minutes. Never mind, I see he wants a full format.

There's no test I know of for the mobo, it is usually an obvious flaw or a process of elimination. I haven't read the complete thread but will now, but run the tests for all the components and if they all pass, the mobo is all that's left. If all other tests pass, PSU and mobo are the only possibilities as far as hardware goes.

Have you run your hard drive manufacturer's diagnostic program that will test your hardware? Also run http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html
Also run memtest86+ for 8 full passes at one time, it takes 8 passes to fully check the ram. I also linked to the site where you can download the ISO file to burn to CD or the pre compiled USB installer. There is a new version 5.01. You can use that or the 4.20 Version, they are both the same. 8 passes will take around 7-10 hours depending on you computer and ram, so it is best run overnight, just boot into the media you installed it to and let it run for a full 8 passes or until you get an error. If you get an error, you can stop it.
Prime95 will test your CPU. BUT Be sure you Have a CPU temp program to monitor the system as Prime 95 will cause the computer temps to rise very quickly and to get very high. If it gets too hot, stop the test. As with all the programs watch carefully for any add ons they want to install with the program, you can opt out.
