I have posted another thread complaining about this problem but without specifically stating the error code 0x80070643.

So I have started this new thread hoping for a fresh start.

I know that I need to upload a few files for diagnosis purposes so please let me know how to proceed.

Thanks for all the help.

Here is the ReportingEvents log file

I did run the SRUT in the other thread and I can post it here again or re-run it if needed.
My immediate question is; last time I ran it, possibly with a different modifier, it messed up my Windows Mail installation.
Will running the SRUT do that this time or is it merely a strictly information gathering tool?

Thanks.

If you're running with the Windows Mail hack in place, the SFC scan will break it - I'm not sure that the SURT tool will do so also, as its functionality appears to have changed lately.

Then I'll post the old SFC scan results from a week ago or so.
The SURT which I ran yesterday did not harm the WM hack and I'll post that too unless one or both are of no value.

Thanks.

Just post the whole CBS folder - that should have both sets of data, and a lot more besides :)

Because the whole CBS folder contained the .persist files which were too large for this server, I deleted them per your advice in the old post.
Is there a work around the size limitation?

Thank you.

I just re-read your reply in the older post and found out that you had said "older persist files"

After checking I found 5 persist files, all with the same time stamp!
Any thoughts?

It looks to me as if you have some significant errors - but for whatever reason, the CheckSUR tool isn't picking them up.
Many of the manifest files for IE9 appear to be missing - or the registry is pointing at the wrong places. In such a situation, Windows will refuse to make changes, because it could make the problem worse.
The SFC scan results weren't in the files uploaded - can you try uploading the older CBSPersist files? (do them one at a time - they are already compressed, so just upload the files as-is).

Am I missing something?

There's no SFC results in there, either :(
(there were none in your upload in the other thread, either)

Open Event Viewer
click on the Windows logs entry in the left pane to expand it.
Now click on the Application entry - wait while it loads.
Click on 'File' in the menu bar and select Save...
Save the file as Appevt.evtx
Repeat for the System log
then zip both, and upload them.

The Application Events log is empty for some reason - does it look empty to you?
The System Events log is interesting - you appear to have changed AVs from Avast to MSE at some point between August and October last year?
You also appear to have had some brushes with malware.
Your Logitech QuickCam drivers have been consistently failing to load properly for quite some time.

Please download and install Malwarebytes Anti-malware (free version) from http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/ - UNtick 'Enable free trial of MBAM PRO' at the end of the installation - and update it, then run a full scan in your main account, and Quick scans in any other user accounts.

I downloaded and ran malwarebytes and it produced some 260 objects.
What I had uploaded last time was Applications and Services Logs, maybe you were referring to Application logs under Windows Logs!? That one has 65,355 events but I could not save that many.

Any thoughts?

Thank you.
