Hi all, I have Windows 7x64 Ultimate installed in a single HD drive in a PC, the system drive is encrypted with Truecrypt and I have Acronis True Image Home installed. I wanted to upgrade the HD to an SSD, I installed the SSD as a 2nd drive so Acronis would be able to clone the HD to the SSD. I followed the automatic Acronis option, setting the HD as source and SSD as target. All went fine until Acronis prompted for a reboot to start the cloning. I proceeded with the boot and immediately after the BIOS the boot process halts with the following error message:
MBR ERROR 3
MBR ERROR 3
MBR ERROR 1
PRESS ANY KEY TO BOOT FROM FLOPPY

Any idea how to fix this? I'm just worried thatg if the drive is encrypted I won't be able to recover any files (i do know the password of course). Thanks

UPDATE: I mounted the volume using Truecrypt advanced options, recovered the files, formatted the drive, and used it as 2nd internal

Yep, you needed to remove the Truecrypt prior to cloning - thats a security measure to protect the HDD, as you discovered :D

Thanks, does that also apply to a backup too or only to cloning?
