I recently purchased a new computer system. The motherboard is an Asus Z87M-PLUS (Intel), with 32 gb Ram, numerous USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports both front and rear of case. I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.
On checking the Device Manager, view by "Devices by connection" all my USB devices (both 2.0 and 3.0) are listed under the Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller branch. This includes my mouse, keyboard and joystick (which are USB 2.0 devices). Should this be the case?
In this same view, "Devices by connection" there are two branches listed as:
Intel(R) 8 Series/C220 Series USB EHC1#1 - 8C26
and
Intel(R) 8 Series/C220 Series USB EHC1#2 - 8C2D
Both of these have sub-branches, USB Root Hub and Generic USB Hub. There are no devices listed within these branches. Should my USB 2.0 devices (mouse, keyboard & joystick) be listed within one of these branches? If they should, what do I need to do to rectify things?
I've got the latest BIOS installed, I've checked the driver properties of each device and Windows tells me I've got the latest versions (no need to update). My mouse, keyboard and joystick are in fact connected to the USB 2.0 ports.

Any suggestions appreciated.
Steve.
