So here's a weird one. Suddenly I'm getting BSODs starting with 0x000000000F4 and the startup disk isn't found, e.g. BOOTMGR is missing, forcing me to do repeated repairs of the startup disk. I yanked out every peripheral other than the hard drives that are in there, which are quite new and worked flawlessly for the past several months and the problem persists. I was able to retrieve this upon startup:

I've attached the dmp file and am not sure what to do with it. In the past, the experience here has been of invaluable help and wondering where to go from here. Using an AS Rock extreme 4 gen 3, Corsair SSD startup disk (4 months old), have another SSD and two 3GB seagate HDs installed, all passing Crystal Disk tests, etc. Running Windows 7, fully updated, with 32GB of RAM. Have a GX570 video card, also about a year old.

Thanks. I'm going to take a look. Oddly, I haven't had any crashes since I posted.... knock on wood. The SSDs had the latest firmware when installed, which was recent. Hopefully they will be able to be updated easily. Some of them are ridiculously difficult, such as requiring a boot disk, etc.

Thanks for taking a look. I'm not sure how you came up with the results, perhaps due to device IDs, but much appreciated.

Thanks - the SSD drives were updated. Apparently Sandisk hasn't updated the firmware for over a year. I just removed the Marvell Driver and we'll see whether it does anything. Something funky going on, may consider also replacing the SSD cable since, upon reboot, the SSD startup (Sandisk) goes offline unless I shut down the compter, unplug, and reboot. This is highly unusual for a cable to go bad but you never know.

Are your SSDs connected to Port 0 or 1 ? Those should be controlled by the Intel chipset and not by Marvell. You also have 2 Marvell ports which use the Marvell controller. Marvell has a long history of not getting along well with SSDs. Move the SSDs to the chipset controlled ports and the Marvell controller will have nothing to do with the SSDs, only the Intel controller will.

First of all, thank you for the responses. I'll start by giving you the goods:

1) Everything was working perfectly for at least 6-10 months. I'd say that it's more likely that something in a Windows Update may be responsible for a change as opposed to where the SSDs are connected. But that said:

2) The primary SSD and secondary are on the SATA3_0 and SATA3_1 of this ASRock xtreme 4 gen 3 motherboard, which I'm quite sure are the Intel connectors. The M connectors are the Marvell and I have nothing on them. The remaining 4 I have 2 HDs and 1 Bluray/DVD.

I'm still experiencing the problem. I've disconnected virtually everything except for the ethernet connection for the Internet and the mouse and keyboard, occasionally the Logitech webcam is connected. This one's a mystery and the BSOD seems to suggest hardware... hmmm... thanks for the help with this one.

If you are not using them, disable the Marvell ports in bios. Disable everything you don't use or need in bios. I do that on all my machines anyway. Is your sata controller in AHCI or IDE mode? Look in BIOS and give me the readings for the +12V, +5V and +3.3V. Your Sandisk SSD should not keep dropping out. If it is not one of the cables loose or bad, it is a sign the SSD is defective, try contacting their technical support and see if they have a solution or if they will RMA it, if they have no solution. Make sure your Crucial has the latest update.

I didn't get a chance to look at the BIOS and here is the update - I'm still crashing on occasion, every day at least once or twice with the same error. I'm running in AHCI mode. The Sandisk boot SSD doesn't drop out - maybe I should have made clear what works and what doesn't. The voltage is probably not the issue. When the PC BSODs, I turn off the UPS, which cuts all power to the PC's motherboard and components. Leaving that off and rebooting will usually allow me to boot right back into the system after hitting the startup screen offering safe mode. If I don't turn off all the power completely using the UPS and simply try to hit the reset button after a BSOD, for some reason that will corrupt the boot disk, require the use of Startup Tools to repair it as stated above, BOOTMGR not found, etc.

I would suggest you go into bios and do what was suggested above, I also would recommend you bypass the UPS and plug tour computer straight into the wall to rule out the UPS as the problem.

Tested the UPS - not a problem. Something is going on internally. Some news here as well. Readings are as follows:

Temperatures are between 42-44C
Voltage, beginning with core are:

1.120-1.128
12.038-12.091
5.112
3.312

I also had a "WebKit2WebProcess.exe", chrome.exe and winscp.exe error (probably the apps shutting down while there was a freeze) which said mostly the same.

The instruction at 0x0000000072309BD referenced memory at 0x0000000001F89004. The required data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of 0xc0000056.

The actual instructions were different as well as the referenced memory. But the I/O error status was the same in all of them.

Ok, your Vcore voltages look OK, Your PSU voltages are fine, your Temps are too high if this is idle temps. Idle temps should be around the 30C range. WebKit2WebProcess.exe is an Apple process usually installed with Safari and most likely a few other Apple programs. Could you please tell us what program uses winscp.exe and what you use it for?
Would you please run http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html again, and post it in your next reply. The information about your problem referenced Memory and I/O errors which would be most likely your hard drives.

Open a elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

Also, your system specs state you have 32 GB of ram. I will need you to run memtest86+, but with that much ram it will take a couple of days to run. But if it is the ram, your machine will never run right unless it is error free. This is the only way to know for sure. So ...
Next I would like you to run memtest86+. It is quite a long test as it needs to be run for 8 complete passes all at the same time. Please download the test from Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool. Although the names are similar, this testis much better than memtest86. It needs to be run for 8 complete passes or until you get an error. If you get an error, stop the test. In the link above if you will go down to the middle of the page you can download either the ISO file which needs to be burned to a CD by Windows image burner or any disk image burner you choose. Or you can download the auto installer for USB Flash drives to run it from a flash drive. Whichever you choose, be sure to download the zip file and extract it. Each Pass consists of 10 tests, each pass checks a different thing and each pass checks different things. It takes a minimum of 8 passes to completely check the ram, more passes are better. It will take quite a number of hours to do the test, so it is usually better run over night. To run the test, boot from the media you chose and don't press any keys, the test will run automatically and will continue running until you tell it to stop. It will tell you how many passes it has run and how many errors are found. If it finds errors they will show up as red lines at the bottom of the page.

Pleas let us know the results of the tests.

Idle is around 40C. I don't recall them ever being lower for most of my PCs, maybe 38 at best. Probably has to do with the environment. I appreciate the note.

Perhaps I shouldn't have mentioned these. It's the WinSCP FTP client. Doesn't have to be open to crash the machine. WebKit is probably safari. The machine can decide to crash even with just Chrome open. I'll respond to the rest in a separate message. Need to reboot and don't want to lose what I've typed. :)

This is a good point. While it is exceedingly rare that this is the case... it is what it is and only one way to know. What I may do is replace the RAM and see what happens. The alternative is to remove banks of 2 DIMMS and test the RAM in another machine since this one is mission critical. I assume that since this is specifically a RAM test, it will only be testing the RAM and the other components are not needed to be kept constant for testing. As this will take a while, I'll follow up with results, assuming this is OK.

This one has me stumped, which is not often. Many thanks for the assistance. I just wanted to note this. I've been on this site longer than this profile (can't remember my old one) and it is the de-facto standard for extremely high level analysis.

WebKit the name of the Mac OS X system framework version of the engine that's used by Safari, Dashboard, Mail, and many other OS X applications. I've never use Safari, but have used some other Apple products for Windows and it has always caused me problems. I know a lot of people like it and use it, but I try to stay away from anything Apple on a Windows computer. They rarely get along very well.

WinSCP FTP client is a SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD) program and a known BSOD software, as is Dameon tools and Alcohol 120.

Thanks for the compliment of this site, We do care and do try. Memtest is a test of the ram as well as the Dimm slots. Errors can come from the ram or malfunctioning Dimm slots. The procedure is to run all of the ram and then run each module in each slot, if errors are found. That is the only way to know for sure. Previous minidumps pointed to memory corruption as well as I/O errors. The problem is one can cause the other. So, testing in another machine is not going to work well. Ram is very problematic and temperamental, it can be simply incompatible with each other or with the board. trust me, I know how time consuming and aggravating it can be. I've been through it several times myself. But, it's the only way you will ever know for sure if that is the problem. I'll post the partial instructions again for you. Please be sure to download from the link provided, it does make a big difference.

Memtest86+is quite a long test as it needs to be run for 8 complete passes all at the same time. Each Pass consists of 10 tests, each pass checks a different thing and each test checks different things. It will take somewhere around 9-10 hours to check my backup computer with 8 GB of ram. If you have more it will take much longer. 5.01 is the latest version, but some people have had trouble running it. 4,20 is the previous version and is basically the same test and the one I usually use.

Klinky, you may be surprised how often ram is the problem. I would guess if everyone ran memtest86+ before posting here, this section would have somewhere around 30% fewer threads.
