Can`t add new hardware...or old ones!

I have a Windows 7 x64 Ultimate old installation (2011). For about a year I can't add new USB peripherals, I tried to add my Android phone to debug my Android Apps, but it refuses to install it, I tried to connect my old Webcam (that used to work fine on my PC years a go) and it refuses as well, even some other special electronic USB devices I have, like an Atmel JTAG programmer it's refusing to accept (and again, some years a go it was working just fine).

All this hardware works fine on other computers, even on a Virtual Machine inside my Windows 7, they all install just fine.

I just bought a new Keyboard, a Corsair k70 and it is refusing to install it as well, it's really annoying and I didn't want to have to reinstall my whole Windows system since this will take A LOT OF TIME to be finished (considering all the programs I would have to install).

Is it there a way to solve this? Have anyone seen this before?

Are you the Administrator of this computer. If you run your computer as a User & not Administrator, then you will probably be blocked from adding any new hardware.

Have a look at your User Accounts in Control Panel & see what account type you are using.

That was a good bet, but no, I am de administrator, and a year a go I could install everything just fine. It doesn't block me from installing, it just says it couldn't install or find the driver, it's an error message, not an administrative tool message.

Your MB for USB connectors may not be working properly.

Go get a new USB card, get those with USB 3

I don`t think the MB is the problem, as I said I can install and run everything in a Virtual Machine running inside my system, if the MB was the issue I wouldn't be able to run anything at all.

(and my MB has USB 3 :) )
