"Not Responding" error every other minute w/30sec-2min hang-up

Ello! So my title says it all, but here it is... So this laptop is almost 10yrs old ('05 or '06), I got it off Craigslist with the same stability issues and it took me 3 weeks to get it stable (I could even run WoW and DDO w/no issues). Well, long story short, I had to reinstall win7 a couple days ago. Now it is doing it again + BSOD now at random and I can't seem to fix it this time. I even need to be in safe mode to post this.... Help!

What I've tried:

Updated Drivers/Cards
chkdsk
c /scannow

P.S. If you need any kind diagnostics or log info let me know (and just to make sure my response is fast tell me how/where to get needed info)

Hello Gamertronica,

A piece of malware could be on your system and that would cause it to run slowly.

Please can you download and install the following programs, and run a full scan with them:
Malwarebytes | Free Anti-Malware & Internet Security Software
HitmanPro 3 - SurfRight
AdwCleaner Download
Junkware Removal Tool Download

Malwarebytes will product a log, please can you upload it to here? Navigate to: C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\Logs and upload the logs to here, which have todays date.

Instructions for running Hitman Pro:
After opening Hitman Pro, select next. Click 'no, I only want to perform a one-time scan to check this computer' and select next. It will then scan your computer. After it's finished scanning, click next and click activate free licence, which is a free-trial of it for 30 days.

Can you follow this guide, written by Gerry Conrell:

Please upload and share with everyone fresh copies of your System and Application logs from your Event Viewer.

To access the System log select Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer, from the list in the left side of the window select Windows Logs and System. Place the cursor on System, select Action from the Menu and Save All Events as (the default evtx file type) and give the file a name. Do the same for the Applications log. Do not provide filtered files.

Thank you,
VinnyBuxton

Ok, all done finally! the logs are attached. The Application Event was empty, so i left that one alone. And I had to turn the System event into a .txt file because it would not let me upload it. Hope all this helps!

Hello Gamertronica,

Is your computer working faster now?

Please can you empty the contents of your downloads folder?

Having looked at the Malwarebytes logs, it picks up a-lot of POP.Optional pieces of malware. They usually come into your system when you download programs off the Internet and you don't un-check the optional offers, which you should do.

I would recommend: Unchecky - Keeps your checkboxes clear

Have you ever felt, while installing software, that the installer tries to push additional unwanted programs at all cost? Ever missed a checkbox, and spent hours afterwards removing adware?

Ever opened your browser after an installation, only to find out that you have a new homepage, a new search engine, or even a new browser? Unchecky aims to keep potentially unwanted programs out of your computer.

What browsers do you have installed on your computer?
Please run Disk Clean Up and Disk Defragmenter.

Improving performance by defragmenting your hard disk - Windows Help
Deleting files using Disk Clean-up - Windows Help

Thank you,
VinnyBuxton

Well, it is running faster... But it is still having the hang-ups (i.e. application windows turning an opaque white, everything but the mouse stalling, and mouse stalling, programs not opening, and the not responding error). It's ok until i try to do anything.... I even did the defrag and uninstalled programs i don't use....
