Hello Peeps!

I am hoping to get some advice here. I have a Satellite Toshiba U305 an older one I got back in 2005ish. Anyway, it was working fine, a little slow but nothing bad, and a few days ago it started but would not go past the log in screen. There were no user accounts or an administrator account to click on. I do have administrator rights though if that is relevant. Also, the screen looks the same as it did before all this, the cursor is there as well. And as of yesterday it started to blink/flash. I have tried many tasks but nothing seems to work so I am hoping someone more technical can help. I tried to boot into safe mood all 3 options but still same thing, stops at the log in screen. Unfortunately, when I go to f8 it does not give me the option to Repair Computer, which is strange because it was there in the past. I do not have a cd, I downloaded windows 7 from Toshiba. Also I did go into f12 and reset the BIOS info to default settings. Anything you would like to know that would help you in thinking of a solution please ask. Thank you very much for giving me your time. Bye!

Some things are not adding up.
You have a 2005ish laptop.
What operating system did the computer come with?
What Windows 7 did you try or install on this laptop.

This is confusing to me from your post. Could you please explain.
What COA did you use and where did you get it from.

Do you have a sticker on your laptop that indicates what Windows operating system the laptop came with?

I downloaded windows 7 from Toshiba.
What is the Windows Certificate of Authenticity?

Windows 7 ultimate login trouble

I have a laptop with Windows 7 ultimate from the factory that is having exactly the same issue. It doesn't matter which mode you choose to start the computer in (regular, or safe mode), it always stops and blinks at the log in screen with no users to choose from.
