Yes, I see that you can do that. Actually I can too, as long as I don't provide any arguments to the command prompt. I think anyway, let me see... ya, nio arguments and you can have two.

Now try adding something like cmd /v:ON [see pic - if I manage to upload it!]

In the above image, each instance of cmd.exe is running from a copy of cmd.exe in a different location. Each copy is differently named. after which I created the shortcuts. The shortcuts are on the QL bar (to the left next to the start button). The top two windows are admin, the bottom tow are not.

I have two there, just like you have. One of them has arguments the other doesn't (the 2nd one I added). The 3rd one I added a switch to cmd namely /v:ON

But I can see that, yes yours works differently. That doesn't make things any better on my end. You could mail me your computer?

I haven't tried any arguments in the shortcut properties and don't really have need to at the present. I have maybe 10 mins before I have to run out, but if you give me a simple switch, I'll give it a shot.

Not only dir, but you may notice that the top right window is dir /p. No, the computer mail thing isn't happening...

Also, that orange one up top there? (my screenshot) also does not offer pin to taskbar. But it isn't pinned there if it has that funny icon right?

I appreciate it. But you aren't experiencing the secondary problem so you're able to have multiple cmd's. I can't. There's nothing you can do experimentally that would apply on my machine. So don't worry about it

Thanks!

My shortcuts (not on desktop...in a folder) have the Pin To option.

Ya, because it's a different program. I don't have that option. It has to be the same cmd. Only 1 cmd works on my machine and it can't be copied without breaking it.

[Edited to add]
So it's my problem to deal with. But I do appreciate the effort.
