Solved IE 11 How do I disable the tab closing animation/delay?

Okay so in internet explorer (11) whenever I close a tab there is an annoying tab closing "animation" or delay. Is there anyway I can disable this? I want this gone.

I have posted a screenshot below showing you what I mean.

This is what happens whenever I close a tab. The tab appears "wide" and then it's back to normal. I would appreciate any input.

I have not noticed any delay in closing tabs or all tabs for that matter,
The only delay I noticed is if you miss the "X" and nothing happens,
The only animating is when you close a tab the next tabs "X" is now under your cruiser,
Kind of cool but can be unforgiving at times

Open for example 4 tabs in internet explorer. Click in x to close the last tab. Watch carefully what happens! the last tab closes of course. The other 3 tabs increase in size by 33%. You can close the last tab without moving the mouse now.

Moving the mouse away from tab bar decreases the size again.

I believe it's handy
I personally open everything in a new tab so at times closing more than one is exactly what I want to do
I do not use tab groups not that it makes any difference in the animating bit,
I do not know of a way to turn it off

Yes, I believe it's only the latest opened tab that does this and moving the cursor away from the tab bar "solves" this, also if you move the cursor above the tab bar it still stay like that. I've found no settings to turn it off and apparently you guys also haven't. So that's good to know, it ain't just me!

LOL IE would be a decent browser to use if it wasn't for this. I sometimes like to browser with it. My primary browser is Pale Moon (FF derivative).

EDIT: [Off-topic] I also dislike how the font looks in IE... everything looks so soft and blurry. Chrome is the same, soft font rendering, ugh.

Interesting about the text issue :/
I've always found the text rendering to be very good even with stock onboard graphics ?

Have you increased your dpi settings beyond 100% default ?
Or increasing the page zoom rate using the default dpi at 100% ?

I just wanted to jump in on the fact that I now also have soft and blurry text in IE11 after installing the latest patch tuesday (12/8) Windows updates.
Before the updates the font/text was perfect, but now it's kinda soft and blurry and totally not relaxing on the eyes.

So I was wondering if more people like me and Jonguy are experiencing this and maybe some of you know how to revert it back to the way it was. That would be awesome and I would really appreciate it.

Thx for the quick reply back. Appreciate it.
But the DPI and zoom rate are still on the same size as before, so I don't think the problem lays there.
However, you wrote your post in 2 different fonts. The last font you used (talking about changing to software rendering) looks perfect to me. Is there a way of changing to that one?
I'm not sure though if that was the font before the updates, but any help is welcome.

Ha well that particular text was pasted here from a word 2007 doc which was using Calibri size-11 font,
I would probably ignore the size but review this,

Changing fonts did nothing for me, and I really don't like fiddling with advanced settings like DPI.

I found this old article while searching the web: 'Blurry fonts' bug KB 2670838 persists with IE11 and Windows 7 | Microsoft windows - InfoWorld apparently it's caused by a bad windows update patch. You can see the KB # in the article. If you have an Internet explorer version other than 11 you can try uninstalling the bad patch. But microsoft forced this patch on IE11, so those who have that version are stuck with blurry fonts.

The point of suggesting dpi settings is to confirm the settings your using,
Also what page Zoom rate you use in ie Gear symbol and Zoom = what do you use ?

I personally use 125% dpi and 150% page zoom and don't see any font issues :/
I'm on ie10 at the moment but have loaded ie11 more than a few times in the past testing new versions,
I've never noticed any font changes in any of the versions :/
I don't use any other browsers or have any installed,
But as a rule I do run with software rendering activated but have switched to the default gpu rendering and still do not see any difference in font quality :/

I also have not changed the font settings in the prior link I posted,
I have used this to get rid of superseded updates so the questionable update does not exist,

I'm using 100% (default) zoom. Also I should mention if you change the UA in compatibility view (f12) the font changes. If I choose mozilla firefox I get a sharp font like if I was using a gecko browser. But with IE standard settings, I get "soft" fonts.

Does the font change in a positive way with comp-view activated ?
Show a comparison with comp-view and without,
You left out your Page zoom preference ?

Seems if a firefox browser mode works Palemoon would not have a font issue or is that your gecko reference

Also if your interested try ie10 and see if the issue repeats,
I'm on ie10 there's no shame
ie11 has other issues for me mostly mouse related plus developer tools in ie11 isn't my favorite place.

Without a doubt, I can say with 100 percent certainty that the (good) font before the updates was way, way more crisp than the one now. You could really tell the difference TrashZone.
But then again, I use IE11 as my default browser, so any small differences are not hard to notice for me.
But looking at the update history from the latest patch tuesday, seems like an uninstall is not going to happen, since every update was recommended.

I also use 125dpi, but 105% zoom (17" CRT here).

And I think with changes like this you simply have to accept them whether you like it or not, because Microsoft didn't gave any news about this sudden change in IE11, so it's obvious that we have no choice but accepting it.

ie11 has always been dpi finicky not sure why I believe I reduced mine to 125 from 130% but none of that was display related but mouse scroll wheel related :/

I added a new video card about 10 months ago now and it's driver must be one of the lucky ones ?

There is not a big difference between choosing mozilla firefox UA and "standard" UA so I made 2 screenshots of me using IE 11 and Pale Moon ("firefox"). You can (hopefully) tell the difference, IE is "fuzzy", "not so sharp" and the gecko (yes gecko = mozilla software, be it firefox itself or a 3rd party derivative) browser is very sharp.

My point is I prefer the gecko look, not IE look. Is this just how Trident works or what? I can also say I don't have the bug mentioned in the article, since that bug is way worse than what I have.

I wouldn't go to much by this site,
John the owner has always said firefox will act better than any other browser,
He has turned on comp-view with Document standards of ie7 for ie users,
Just this thread comes up with a few issues,

So not every issue is a bug in ie,
Most the time it's the website it's self that don't really design around ie or 3w.org
