Anti Virus on Win 7 x64

Hi

I have a problem with anti virus on 64bit version. I installed KAV 8. After installation there was an some error with file and memory. Then I tried AVG 8, but without success. I think there is a problem with 64 bit versions. I had a 32bit before and everything was just perfect.

If anyone knows whats the problem or whats the best solution please write here.

What in specific does the error say? I tried Kaspersky before on my x64 and worked perfect

Unfortunately my Norton 360 V2 is not working as efficient as it should be.
I wonder if the original poster had any success?

thanx a lot guys. I tried AVG 30 mins ago but it was not a free version. Now I installed KAV 9 and it is working. I think there was a compatibility problem with older versions.

Unfortunately my Norton 360 V2 is not working as efficient as it should be.

V3 works great in windows 7, its also much faster than V2 and has improved in terms of detection rate.

@sanssan, Kaspersky and AVG both work great in windows 7 64-bit, always make sure you have downloaded the latest version, Kaspersky 2010 or AVG 8.5. Make sure never to have more than one antivirus on your pc at a time, as doing so will slow it down and even render it unusable!

the problem here is that you have installed KAV 8. Its heuristics driver is not compatible with Windows 7. Installed the latest version and it should fix the issues.
