Any Vapers?

Yes it will be cheaper. How much depends on how much you were spending on tobacco and how much you vape. But you will save.

And, later down the road if you want to get into the rebuildable atomizers and mixing your own juice, you'll save ALOT more.

I know for my old Inferno, the heating elemnts cost about $12 or so for 3 of them. They burn out in approx 2 weeks. Not really bad though.
But with a rebuildables $20 worth of supplies will last a year or more.

Same with Juices. Once you have the stuff you need, it'll cost something like $1 or so per 15-30 bottle. But it takes a lot of practice, trial and error. You'll end up mixing some really horrid tasting stuff and some really amazing stuff as well.

@paulpicks21
Try to resist those craving if you get them. It'll pass in a few days.
I know with me, I had a few more so due to the fact of habit. I would always take my dog out and have a smoke. So it felt weird not taking her out as often and walking around to have a smoke.
So I think it was more of a habit thing for me to break, not really nicotine.

Once I figured out I could get the hardware cheap on ebay or amazon, I was saving 300.00 USD per month. I never bought another pack of cigs and within 6 mos I had saved enough for a new bed, mattress, tv, and laptop... I could kick myself for not doing it sooner... :geek:

It's sort of strange this came up. The last time I saw my Cardiologist, I was waiting and doing some small talk with the Nurse. She mentioned that and said they looked at it different than most Doctors do. Now, understand, she brought it up, I didn't know anything about it. She said most Doctors encourage it, but they don't. She said it does stop you getting the harmful tars and Carbon Monoxide and stuff, which is good. But, from their perspective, you are still getting the Nicotine, which still has the same affect on your cardio Vascular system. So, as far as what they look at, it is only a little better. As far as the patient's overall health, they are better off, just not the Cardio Vascular stuff. That's pretty much why the only reason I would try it, is if I thought I could do what Wishmaster has done and get myself off of both.

Seems very reasonable, what did you get , and exactly where from?

Steve pointed me in the direction of this thread as funnily enough yesterday I told him I was quitting cigarettes and starting the vapes.

I bought a kit in the UK from a shop it was not very expensive, around £20GBP and then I bought 3x 10ml refills for it for another £10. I got to say so far so good. I usually smoke 20 cigarettes a day but it's been 10hrs since I started the vapes and I have not wanted a cigarette.

I said to Steve in an email, it's not so much trading one addiction for another, it's still the same addiction (nicotine) but it cuts out most of the harmful stuff.
Cost wise I expect to save around £80 per month which is not to be sniffed at!

I went to a local shop to buy it, they charged a little more than the online price but not much.

I got one of these - eGo-U Blister Pack (Silver) - eGo-U Blister Pack (650 mAh) - Liquid Starter Kit

One of these as I heard they were better than the stock one - CE4 eGo Clearomiser (Black) - Clearomisers

And then I bought 3 refills for £10, this is the brand - iBreathe Premium E-Liquid

They seem to satisfy my craving so far.

I apologize. I suppose it would seem unintelligible to anyone not familiar with any of it.

Yes, the Volcano Inferno is a very good place to start.
Electronic Cigarettes | E-Cigarettes | VOLCANO E-Cigs

There are others, but I've had significant hands on time with it and its good. I did like a few of their juices, but not many of Volcanoes juices I liked.
Then again, taste is subjective.

Volcano often has little local stores too. Check a local mall perhaps?
Often in the little Kiosks/stores they have things set up so you can sample juices, get hands on all the products too.

They do well and ship promptly from the main site too, but everything ships from Hawaii. And you cant sample things before you buy.

The Inferno Kit will have 2 batteries, charger, Tank, and a juice of your choice to start.
Not a bad deal really. Basically with that kit, your ready to go. Nothing else needed other than maybe charge up.

This is an interesting thread, my doctor suggested these as a lesser of two evils since my previous attempts have proven futile. Like Steve I would prefer to get off of both but you got to start somewhere.

Are you saying that the heating elements only last two weeks?

Right now I roll my own smokes (Bugler) so I go through two cans a month, about $70 or $75 a month. Roughly a pack a day.

I doubt I can jump into any of those mods you're talking about but if it is a path to quitting I wouldn't mind the initial investment of that Inferno but for that price you would think it would last longer, the element part.

Well alot of times when someone says 'mod" the basically mean the battery handheld portion, without a tank.

And yes Anywhere from 1-2 weeks those replaceable coils last. Depends on how much you use them though.

With a true rebuildable atomizer (tank) your wind your own coils, usually with Kanthal wire, and make your own wick. Most myself included use organic cotton.
This is the cheaper way to go and can be fun if you like building things and pretty easy.

But if you don't want to be bothered with it, the disposables are the way to go and work very well.
You can buy them in singles or often in packs.
It truly is a simple matter of screw out the old one, toss it, screw in a new one. Fill tank and off you go.

Thats how the Inferno works, and others with a similar tank design.

Some just use cartomizers. Basically a tank/element all in one piece. You just use those until they burn out and toss em. About the same a week or 2. You can get those as Prefilled units or Refillable ones and fill them yourself.

Either way go, you should save money. Even buying the disposables. I know I did.

Thanks, I'll look into it a bit more and see if I can find a local place to check out.

I hadn't looked into them but it sounds like replacing coils is just part of the deal.

I was looking through the website, saw this one,

The ecig granddaddy ? INFERNO: The ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE

What's with all the flavors? Does that regular tobacco flavor taste like a regular cigarette?

Before I started rolling my own I was smoking Camel Non Filters, the Bugler is similar but has a different taste.

Before I started rolling my own I was smoking Camel Non Filters, the Bugler is similar but has a different taste.

I've tried a bunch of Vocanos flavors, and liked a few and hated a bunch. Of course taste is subjective.
Personally, I haven't really liked tobacco flavors that much in vape.

But Volcano has 2 that I've tried. Tobacco and Pure Tobacco. The Pure tobacco wasn't to bad, I liked it it pretty well. But the regular tobacco tasted to chemically to me.

Blue Water Punch and Pear-a-dise were two I really liked.

If you have any vape lounges near you, they usually have things set up so you can try some of their flavors.
Volcano stores/kiosks do and many other vapor stores.
This is your best bet if you have the option. Because what you think you'll like you may not.

I've found that flavors I love I don't always like as a vape. Flavors I normally hate, taste good as a vape. It's weird.

I mean, I love cherry. But haven't found a good Cherry flavor that doesn't taste purfumey or chemically. At least to me.

I hate anything melon flavored. Watermelon, HoneyDew etc.

But Watermelon flavored vapors are very good to me.

I've been doing alot of experimenting with different flavors. Mixing my own E-juices from scratch.

A few have had results that were huge fails, but occasionally I mix up with a winner.

Tonight I mixed Double Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and just a bit of Bavarian Cream and tastes almost like a Resee's Cup! Love it!

I tried this before with just the chocolate and peanut butter and it wasn't bad, but felt like something was missing.
Just that touch of the Bavarian Creme did it for me though.

There are some good chocolate flavors out there though. But I think it tends to taste better as a vape when mixed with something else. Chocolate/Strawberyy etc Although still pretty good by itself.
