CPU running 100% - Screens posted - Help Appreciated

I am having a problem with my CPU getting used up 100%. No process is showing to be causing it but it usually just sits at 100%. I have gone through all the steps to make sure it isnt a virus, and it is not, and have disable all un needed startup services and programs.

The problem does not happen is Safe mode, and i was not able to do a fresh install, because it got hung up at the gathering files part.

I disabled my high definition audio and that is not the problem either.

I cant tell from that screenshot you posted, but open Task Manager and go to 'processes' tab, click 'show processes from all users', and look for which process is eating your CPU in CPU column.

'System idle' process will show up to 99%, this is normal, but look for something else using the same.

Normal drivers don't load in 'safe mode' so that narrows it down a touch

None of the processes are actually really using all the cpu up (but its at 100%), and right when i start up windows all the cpu is used up at 100%.

Well, you have cut the screenshot off again lol, so I'm missing the bottom part, although your 'system idle' process is 0%, which proves there is a problem.

Go to START and type 'msconfig' in search, hit enter and the config will run.

Click the 'startup tab' and untick loading items and reboot until you find out which one is causing problem.

How about this one. It showed up correctly when i clicked that link.

I unticked ever startup program already and it still goes on. I also went to this services one and clikc hide all microsoft and then unchecked all. I still have th problem.

I take it system was running fine before this started? What have you installed since? (software/drivers) What have you downloaded and opened since?

Do you use 'system restore'?, and if so, have tried to 'rollback' to working version?

If you have recently installed drivers for anything, can you 'rollback' to previous version?

Have you tried disabling or uninstalling your Antivirus software, a common culprit?

A screenshot of installed software from 'uninstall programs', if I could see that please.

Okay i think i may have found the problem.

when i disabled all services i was able to load the system up. Though i was able to do this it was still a 100%. I then disabled wmpnetwrk.exe, and it was back to peak performance. I am now just going to disable all the program that may be the culprit to not allowing it to run, and gradually enabling them to startup

wmpnetwrk.exe is Windows Media Sharing Service, if you don't stream media to other devices then disable it, its a resource hog anyway, and one of the first things I remove.

I have not seen an issue like this yet, on my laptop I have wmpnetwrk.exe turned off anyway but on my desktop I use it to stream to my Xbox 360 & I have no issues like this.

Just turn off 'media sharing' in WMP or Homegroup instead of disabling service then.

If i could not into WMP i would, but now it automatically exits out after showing the silloet for about 1/2 a second. Any idea why i does this now?
