Type III pcmcia help

Hi all,

I bought an type iii pcmcia card but I its not compatible with my T500 ExpressCard/54 slot... Can I get a adapter that would enable me to use the type iii pcmcia card through my ExpressCard/54 slot?

Might help to know what the PCMCIA card is used for, USB, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, etc.

its a com on air PCMCIA card I am using for a IT security course.

Hi the card i have is 68 pins but its height is thicker than say my Belkin wireless card that is also a 68 pin... Its too high to go in the slot if this makes sense

Yes, it does make sense as the PCMCIA card [or PC Card] slots on some much older Notebooks/Laptops actually could accommodate 1 card like you have or 2 of the thinner cards at the same time, haven't seen one of those in quite awhile as the advent of USB ports lessened the need for the card slots and helped make the cases thinner/lighter. Sounds like you may need to get a newer card unless the course has you stuck with the thicker one.

I've attached a photo of the card...its the one on the right with a normal size one on the left

The one on the right appears to be even thicker than 2 of the one on the left would be, may not fit anything except some type of card reader.

Thats what I mean....I need to find some sort of expansion device for this... Someone got back to me and said they bought a panasonic toughbook cf74 and it worked..his advice was to get an older laptop and type iii cards fit no problems
