Solved BSOD - Not sure of issue, DM log fire attached

Hard Test stopped again, 43%.

I cannot seem to get it to finish. I started it and left for dinner and came home to it froze on 43 with the same problem as posted in the picture above.

The picture of Seatools Long Generic test uploaded in post #15 is not showing any error per se. It is frozen at a particular point because it is trying to recover/remove any disc error it found during testing. Give it some time. Long test may need a good time to be completed, sometimes over a few hours depending on the disc size.

If the test detects any error, the screen it will show is this ....

If the test progress bar is apparently frozen, but not showing either a "passed" or a "failure", please have patience with the test.

I am not sure you are seeing the picture right that I posted Arc, because the first time I ran this test it took about 5-10 minutes to get to 25% and then did what it did.

When it froze on the 50%, I actually had started it, and then went to sleep for about 5-6 hours. And woke up for work disappointed that it had done it again.

I posted the picture, again and zoomed in a bit on where the problem occurs.

Have you ever see the Matrix? Thats what it looks like at the top of the screen.

Only one thing can be said from that pic that LBA (bad sector count) is too high at 25% only.

I tried to run it additionally last night, and it made it to 77%. With the same error coding. Which by the way is a bunch of jumbo wumbo its like random letters/numbers and symbols. Really strange.

I ran it again, just recently. And it finished. And it passed.

What I don't understand is why I had to run it 5-6 times (cant remember) for it to finally complete the full test. I have not had a BSOD for I believe 2 days going on the 3rd.

I will see if another one happens in the next week or so. I am trying to figure this all out before I purchase my new CPU/GPU incase I end up needing to replace something else.

0x124's are typically related to a hardware issue and can only be isolated by stress testing the major components.

If overclocking, reset all overclocks back to their default settings and then follow these:

RAM - run for a minimum of 8 consecutive passes

Ran the GPU test - No problems at all, ran it for 30 minutes or so. Temps never exceeded 52, and that was only for a short while, maintained about 40-45 about 90% of it. (Log attached)

Storage- I have already ran Basic, Short, and Long test with Seatools. All passed.

CPU - Whilst running it, I BSOD'd. But, I noticed the messages were different. (Photos attached)

Ram - I will run this when I can, currently do not have access to CD burner or USB.

Probably horrible on my computer but I ran it again and logged it.

I was not able to upload it in Microsoft Excel like it wanted too, so I cropped the Temps.

Here is the log, it seems it hit about 62 and the end of the log is because it BSOD'd.
I have noticed as well my PC only crashes whilst playing H1Z1 and Dota 2, which are 2 very CPU demanding games because of the horrible Engines they run on.

What I don't understand is, I have an Cooler Master 212 Evo CPU Fan, I wouldn't think my PC would hit those kind of temps?

Do search for IntelBurnTest in our tutorial section. Run the Standard test and use HWInfo as described in the tutorial to take note of the maximum temp.

Thats what I used.
I ran a log with it so I could upload it here. And it wants to open it in Excel but since this site won't let me upload Excel documents I just took a screenshot of the numbers.

That picture I showed you is a Temp Log of my CPU with HWInfo.
It reached a maximum of about 62 and then crashed.

Ah ok. What is the rated max. temp. Of the CPU?

Here is a picture while I have been playing about 10 minutes. When I open up browser plus game I get a 70 Celsius CPU warning. That cannot be good at all.

When I looked it up I am seeing 62 is Max Temp.

Ok. That explains why it BSOD'S under load....you need a solution to keep it cooler. Have you considered a water-cooling kit? I'll ask Steve to drop by - he's all over the cooling gear.

I already have a Cooler Master 212 Evo CPU Fan. I am wondering if I need to turn the speeds up.
I am as well going to clean my case tomorrow, but it doesn't seem all that dirty....

In all honesty, I will be getting a new CPU here soon because this one is pretty out dated but I am just wanting to make sure 100% that its my CPU.

Obviously the test shows there is something wrong, but I don't feel its 100% and I guess I won't know until I replace it.

What's giving you the warning? HWInfo is showing 62 as the high temp. As I recall AMD says shutdown temp on that CPU is 61, I think. But whatever it is, there is definitely a cooling problem. I would make sure all of the dust is out of the case and especially the CPU radiator and the old thermal Paste is removed and new paste applied. Your Hyper 212 should be sufficient enough to cool that CPU, but it is not. So, you do have a problem there somewhere. Clean and re paste the CPU and cooler. If that doesn't work, I would look into a new AIO CPU cooler. If you are overclocking, set everything back to defaults.

With your cooler you should not be getting temps that high. Either that cooler is not functioning right or you need more fans to bring cool air into the case, or clean up the wiring so it does not block airflow. But, over time thermal paste will dry out and need re pasting. That is what helps transfer the heat from the CPU to the cooler. I think if you will try all of those things, you will see better temps.

Good airflow inside the case is a must. No matter what cooler you get, it uses the air inside the case to cool the CPU. If the air inside the case is hot, you won't get too much cooling of anything. Adding more intake fans to pull cooler air into the case helps a lot. Then the cooler has cool air to take the heat out of the CPU. If it were mine, I would do all of those things and re paste the CPU. Even if you are getting a new CPU soon, there is no reason to melt that one which is very subject to happen, unless the changes are made.

You are going to crap yours pants when you see what my CPU Fan looked like.
I have cleaned the dust before within my computer, but never removed the fans from the CPU Fan and looked behind them.

Not to mention I have a very big dog (Alaskan Malamute) So I need to start cleaning and maintaining my computer much more often.

I cleaned it out, re-did my thermal paste and my idle temps went down like 6-9 degrees which is ALOT.

Now, once I cleaned everything and fired back up the PC the only thing I have noticed is:
--Its louder, but thats because my CPU fan is already causing airflow again. So thats good.
----When I first fired up my PC, my PWR_Fan was at like 100 RPM but eventually it worked up to about 1600 RPM but it took like 2- 3minutes, is that normal?

Now, I am about to open up Dota 2. The game that has been causing alot of CPU heat because its so CPU dependent and see if my temps stay below 60!

Okay, last night while just idling on the menu of Dota 2 (not in game). I was running at 58!

Now, cleaned up. I am running 37 while idling on the menu! So lets hope once in game it stays at this temp!

You should see a big improvement after cleaning up that mess. However, I did not crap my pants, but I would also suggest re applying thermal paste. If you need instructions, I can help.
