I stopped using ThreatFire years ago because it started causing BSODs.

No kidding. I've spent a very frustrating day with their support system. What a joke it has become. With them going to subscription only on many of their products already, they are probably going to lose me when Acrobat XI reaches EOL in 2017.

Noq thi afternoon while looking to see what was eating up my C: space I came across this Antibody Software - WizTree finds the files and folders using the most disk space on your hard drive it runs real quick and is easy to interpret (has to be for me to use!) and is free - one can donate if they want.

Milady is refering to the full Adobe Acrobat product not the reader which remains free. Foxit is a better reader than Acrobat though so I would still use it.

Correct. I have a two installation license for Adobe Acrobat Standard XI that I have installed on my desktop rig and one of my notebooks. I'm using Sumatra PDF as a reader only on another notebook. Foxit had a security flaw that was discovered a while back and it took them a long time to fix it after claiming it wasn't an issue.

I didn't know about the security flaw. I have also used Sumatra. It is a very basic reader but can also serve as an e-book reader provided the e-book is not DRM protected.

Is the "security flaw" that they started including PUP's such as Open Candy, or something else ?
They have removed Open Candy and other PUP's as far as I know.

I recently found i can use the latest version of Foxit as a Portable App, and so far that is working well for me.
Foxit quit offering a portable version a long time ago.
I'm trying to move as many programs as possible to Portable, on a triple boot it means I only need to maintain one program for 3 OS's ...

Something else. It was a security hole that hackers could get in through, not a PUP.

So the security hole was "plugged" ?
I use Secunia PSI, as one "security layer", and when it alerts me of a security problem, i fix it ...
imho any program can have security holes found, including Windows OS

I do agree it might be best to use "less popular" software, as malware writers probably spend less time attacking those programs ...

ReRun 2.5.4.0

ReRun is a free program I wrote that detects running programs and shows a button for those recently closed. The idea is if you have a program that is not easily accessible, such as not pinned to taskbar, and close it by mistake, you can pop up the Button Panel with a hotkey to ReRun it with a mouse click.

With version 2.5.4.0 I finally have it working as I wanted at the beginning. Persistence pays off.
