Hi,

This Error Message "Unsupported 16-Bit Application - \??\C:\Users\XXX\AppData\LOcal\NVIDA\NvBackend\ApplicationOntology/NvOAWrapperCache.exe - cannot start due to incompatibility with 64-Bit versions of Windows.'

started appearing when I first start my PC Win 7 64-Bit Home Professional everyday. It appears a number of times (1-3) and then goes away. Now it recurs at random?

This started after I reinstalled GeForce Experience (2.4.1.21) and then latter updated my NVIDA Driver (GForce GT 440) to Version 347.88.

Any assistance to solve this annoying problem would be greatly appreciated.

Geforce Experience is nothing but a bundled junk included in nvidia forceware. What you all need there is the display driver and PhysX.

I would go with what comptech suggested. Uninstall and reinstall the display driver. 347.88 WHQL will be OK for your card. Use DDU to uninstall the display driver. Then uninstall all the nvidia items in Control Panel > Programs and Features. Then install the driver. While installing the driver, choose advanced, uncheck everything other than display driver and PhysX, check the box for a clean install.

Hi,

I uninstalled GeForce Experience first before the uninstall and reinstall of the Driver.

The popup error message has not happened again since the uninstall off GeForce Experience so I have decided to leave the Driver as is at this stage.

Thanks for the assistance to solve the problem. I posted the same questions on the NVIDA Forum and nobody has bothered to respond.

FYI I download DDU (Version 9.6.0.0) but my security software (Emsisoft Internet Security) does not like the latest version (Version 14.3.0.0).

Thanks again, this is always a good forum for answers and assistance.

Hi Arc
I'm following your advice on all my machines since I agree with you that Geforce is more hindrance than help. For my laptop there is no PhysX option. Only NVIDIA WMI and nView other than the graphics driver and 3D drivers
What do you suggest?
