How to remove Windows 10 upgrade updates in Windows 7 and 8

I don't see what that KB3021917 has to do with updating windows 10, the article I linked is a little confusing. However, with or without that update you can turn off or on the Windows Customer Experience Improvement Program.

1. In the Windows 7 or Windows 8 operating system, start the control panel and click Action Center > Change Action Center settings.

2. Click Customer Experience Improvement Program settings.
3. Select No or Yes click Save changes.

Yea that was or is a sniffer t send telemetry which I didn't mind that 3/10/15 but I forgot all about it until a day or so ago so I removed it,
That gave M$ a month to sniff ;)

I don't see anything pertaining to windows 10 with 3020369 & 3045645

If UAC is disabled via registry, will UAC still pop-up if you install KB3045645 ?

I have been looking at some of the previous important and non-important updates some are silly but as long as it doesn't pertain to 10 or do something I do not want done or I don't want the item then I will keep installing windows updates. I think people should install the important & other updates as long as it doesn't pertain to windows 10 or do something you & others don't want done or don't want the item (like skype).

Update to force a UAC prompt when a customized .sdb file is created is a good idea, it should protect people from malicious scripts.

I have it install because i wanted to know the files versions and exactly which ones will be installed. UAC still prompt for other programs that need it. It must be for that particular customized .sdb.

There's also this file "Aelupsvc.dll" which is about Application Experience, service Name: AeLookupSvc

Introducted in Windows 2003 Server SP1, this service is part of an infrastructure that automatically applies software updates to programs to make sure that they run on newly released service packs and newly released versions of the Windows operating system. This software must be allowed to run in order for updates to be properly installed.

Looks You can install the KB3020369 after Kb2819745 if you're not part of domain controller Rodc, so its for a very particular situation.

All the hardware selected by myself. I never imagined upgrade my PC :)
Hello everyone,

I would be assured if to date the following patches are not really "necessary" : KB2990214, KB3035583, KB2952664, KB3021917
Because those are for windows 7 according to what I have read(http://www.sevenforums.com/news/366474-microsoft-silently-preparing-your-pc-win-10-a-17.html).

Thanks for the answers.

It's up to you whether you deem them necessary or not.
I've skipped all of those (except KB2990214, which is marked as important and just seems like updated Windows Update Agent files).
I've also skipped this month's optional diagnostic update too.
They all seem like they're prepping pc's for the Windows 10 update. But, as that's not even been released yet, and I don't intend on installing W10 until at least 6 months after it's been released, I'm going to wait until I install them.
From the descriptions, I'd say it won't harm your system if you choose to skip these. I've skipped them and my system is running fine.

So, it's up to you at the end of the day, it's your system.

EDIT: This months bloated optional 28MB Diagnostic Tracking service update (KB3022345) has disappeared from my hidden updates now.

Is Win 10 going to be a free update for everyone? Will it become available as an update to Win 7? I've avoided Vista and Win 8, but Win 10 may be a decent upgrade if your hardware can handle it. I only upgraded to Win 7 when XP became unsupported. Although, I think Win 7 is superior to XP. The only downside was that some applications can't run on Win 7 and XP mode is really a degraded version of XP. I'm not eager to upgrade to Win 10, because I'm very comfortable with Win 7 now. I don't like to learn a new OS, because it's annoying to have to "research" how to do things. Since Win 10 is advertised as the final version of windows, it might be worth the pain to just jump in and do the upgrade. If it turns out to be a quality upgrade from Win 7, I won't regret the hassle of learning the new OS.
