Windows Movie Maker Crashes, Computer Hangs On Shutdown

Howdy! I have a few issues that I don't know how to solve.

My first issue is Windows Movie Maker has been having issues with footage. I do videos on YouTube and usually record in 60fps. I had changed Fraps to record at 120fps on a suggestion by someone and for a week, WMM was fine with it. Then, it started having issues. MM would hiccup during playback while editing, and then crash after a few minutes. I figured MM couldn't handle that many frames, so I tested it with 60fps, and it would hiccup and crash on that. It will now only accept 30fps footage and it will still sometimes crash while editing that. It will also no longer accept mp4 files. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, but to no avail.

My second issue is that for the past week, my computer has hanged on shutdown a few times, and I would have to manually shut it down with the power button. I hate doing that as I am afraid I am damaging my computer. I would love any kind of help. Please keep explanations simple as I am not very tech savvy and get confused easily. I thank you for your time and any help you could provide.

Have you reinstalled Fraps yet? Maybe it is the one with issues.

When you shutdown from power button, do you get a windows did not shutdown properly warning and the F8 menu on next startup?

Any kernel power errors in event viewer?

I just did now. Sorry about that.

Any kernel power errors in event viewer?

No, I don't. Also, where is the event viewer?

Use this tutorial by Brink to help fill in your system specs.
Also include your security programs and power supply.

The "hiccup" what you were talking about, happend to me too while editing 120fps. How much RAM is given to WMM? (If you have a program for that)

If there is none, then it shouldn't be a problem, just an annoyance.

My new installation does it too once in every 3-4 days (have yet to ask in forums, only change was SSD and GPU). As long as you wait for hard disk to finish processing, you can shutdown.

Okay, I know it isn't Fraps because I also use Open Broadcast Software to stream, and when I try ti import the mp4s from that into MM, the transcoder crashes. So I convert the mp4s into avis and import them. I can edit them, but MM will still crash a lot.
