Dead readers,

I have some trouble with my computer. Every once in a while it gets a BSOD. This occurs during games.

The error i recieved some time ago was: APC_INDEX_MISMATCH which at the site: Wat doet de APC Index Mismatch Blue Screen betekenen in Windows? said that it could be a driver problem. I tried all three fixed according to this site but it is still here. I could not install the hotfix for windows 7 because it said that my version of windows was incorrect.

I'm having trouble for quite some time now. There was a problem occuring my Processor, which I had replaced. The videocard was also replaced with a new one.

I hope someone can help me in this forum.

With kind regards

Please upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.

  1. Click on the start button
  2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
  3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
  4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
  5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.
That will be extremely necessary here.

Here is the complete file. I checked it.
I probably thought it was done too soon.
The file is written in dutch. Is this a problem?

The problem with this file is that it is not working. :(
I was asking for that file because I was searching some more details about your graphics environment. So let us work based on the info that you have.

The issue, as appeared prima facie, a display failing in such a manner that it is blaming the display hardware. The graphics card is GTX 660 and the installed driver is of February.

Uninstall the installed display driver using Display Driver Uninstaller. Then install the latest driver from Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers.

When done, stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.Take a screenshot of the furmark window before closing it. Upload the screenshot for us. Also let us know if you have experienced any crash/BSOD and/or artifacts during the test.

Hi, I used the tutorial suggested by the form and it took the file you recieved.
This time I manually obtained the files from the minidump folder. Is this somthing that would help you gain more knowledge about the situation?

Do two things now.

Uninstall AVG using AVG Remover. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Then, test your RAM modules for possible errors.Run memtest86+ for at least 8 consecutive passes.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

Let us know the results. For reporting any further BSOD, upload the complete set of data. Stray crash dumps are not enough.

Hi,

I have tried what Arc's solution on his last post. Deleted some malware, installed a new virus scanner and ran memtest.

Although there was some malware I think the problem lies within the ram.

I ran memtest and the test failed at the second try with two banks on slot 1 and 3.
I tried both single banks of memory on slot 1, 3 and 1 again and they all passed.
I also tried both banks on slot 2,4 and 3,4. both test failed at the second test.

So I tried to play some games with one banks of memory. I did not have a BSOD for two-three days now. It seems pretty stable.

Altough it is a solution I would like to have both banks running. Any tips on that?

Thanks for all the help Arc! You have been great.

Your motherboard has 4 DIMM slots. 0,1,2 and 3.

You have 2x2 GB 1066 MHz RAM sticks, primarily populated in DIMMs 1 and 3. Dual channel.

Test these combinations .....

  • 1 and 3

  • If passed, OK.
  • If failed, test 1 only, then test 3 only.
  • 0 and 2
    • If passed, OK.
    • If failed, test 0 only, then test 2 only.
Depending on the result, we have to set our further testing strategy so that we can find a way to use the 4 GB RAM.

Hi Arc,

On the motherboard and in the manual it says that the motherboard contains two channels, A and B.
A is on slot 0, 1 and B is on 2 and 3. So I have set the sticks on slot 0 and 1. Ran Memtest and it passed.
It also have not given me a BSOD in 2-3 days. Sorry for the late post. I had a busy week. Passed my graduation.

Thanks for everything! :D
