Can I reserve it without downloading? Or should I be forced to download it so it'll be reserved?

What would happen if say you upgraded from 7 to 10 and a few months down the road your hard drive fails and you have to reinstall, would you install 7 first with your original key or 10, but where would you get the key for 10?

If you upgraded from 7 to 10 and your drive dies, you`d have to start all over again from 7, where would you get the media to install 10 ?

You wouldn`t have it, because you upgraded from 7.

If you don't want it downloading then just don't reserve it, if you have a qualifying OS then you can download and upgrade at any time within the first 12 months, there is no need to reserve.

No sort of windows license has anything to do with with a drive. If you have said about the motherboard, that would have a feasibility.

I know that it's not included in Win10 so I'm looking for an alternative.

Vlc some have reported it works to play dvd but I haven't tested it yet. In fact, I am getting ready to try it now. I just have to keep my volume down because it could blow the speakers when using vlc player according to dell.

Yes VLC works in windows 10. I think I am going to keep windows 7 and not upgrade. They have actually removed things I liked in 10130.

The expandable start screen (Yes, It can be turned on in the settings but I like the old way)
They limit how much can be pinned to start menu and even less if you use smaller screen resolution. In other builds you were allowed more items to be pinned and if it went off the screen you just scrolled.

For example if you install firefox, a pop use to allow you to change the default app, now you have to do extra steps to make it the default app. I like the old way with this as well.

I am not the only one that doesn't like those issues.

I also don't like them removing my grey theme during the upgrade I had installed, I know I can possibly get it close but it would take some time.

Microsoft forgot one important issue, most people like slow change or very little change. Very few people want constant change even Linux doesn't change very often. I think I finally made my mind up to keep windows 7. However, I may try the release version if it is a lot different then the windows 10130 build and I am allowed to try it for 30 days without having activate it.

Read the first tweet in post #62. It is stated explicitly there ....

Once you upgrade W10 w/ the free upgrade offer you will able to clean reinstall Windows 10 on same device any time

Now, to do a clean install, you need an ISO. You are allowed to do a clean install that clearly means that you will have access to the necessary ISOs.

But panic, negativism and some other factors (I am not mentioning) may resist you to believe it, still.

I wish the reverse, because it is windows 7 users who are supposed to participate in this discussion. Still I will call for administrators opinion on this topic.

No where does this Gabriel Aul say anything about where to get an iso from or if they will be hosted somewhere.

All he says is you can do it both ways, but you can`t if you don`t have the install media.

And if your drive dies you have to start from 7 or 8.1 again if there are no iso`s available.

Now, am I wrong or am I right ?

Wrong mate. Gabe Aul has also said you'll be able to perform unlimited clean installs following the upgrade. There will be ISOs.

Windows 10 is being discussed here as it's being offered free to all windows 7 users, so this makes it entirely relevant.

I follow his tweets, and the regular emails I receive from him, because I want to know. And I dont get any money for doing it. I do it, because I feel the necessity, I prefer to be informed.

You prefer to remain uninformed, so you dont know the facts. Clean and clear. Now please stop talking on things those you dont know.
