Windows 10 edition for a gamer?

Hiya,

Would want some advice about choosing the next edition of Windows 10, like the title says I play a load of different games and when they first announced all the different editions I thought that the Windows 10 Home would be a good choice until I heard that Microsoft will force Home users with updates which is okay and I do understand their reasoning but eh, that means that at any given time my computer might restart when I'm in a game.

Would Pro be a better substitute or would people still advice me to go with Home?

Windows 10 doesn't restart after installing updates, it asks you when you want it to restart. You won't have any problem there.

Not sure but home might also limit you to 16 GB of memory, you`d have to check on that, something to consider if you ever decide to go higher.

Hm yeah maybe I misunderstood the WU thingy, thought when they said that updates were mandatory that it had something to do with how the restart goes..

And TZ if only that price was in Euro.. I think the Euro price would be closer to 200..

Nah, they bumped it up to 128 GB for Windows 10 Home x64.

As for the updates, they are going to download and install automatically but you can still delay restarting like you do on Windows 7/8. And really the updates that are going to be mandatory are security and fixes. Stuff in "Optional" is not going to be installed automatically. Just like it is on previous versions.

As far as I'm aware there aren't any optional updates, they're all mandatory. Pro users can defer upgrades for a certain amount of time but have to install them eventually, Home users have them installed as soon as they're available. I think there is a workaround for it but I've not tried it myself.

Yikes I've only seem mobos capable of 64gb of memory in x99 series
Which is already freaking insane :shock:
