Solved KB3095649 - another mystery meat update?

I was also offered KB 3095649 a short while ago, despite using Windows 7. As far as I can make sense of Microsoft's article, it does not apply to Windows 7. I hid it.

I'm just hiding the damn misery KB. until Microsoft can explain what it is and who should have it. I hope the term (bend over) isn't in the explanation.

I did the same thing and added it to my Specialized High Intensity Training List. It was listed as optional so I doubt there will be a problem caused by my not installing it. Forget this vague nonsense.

You are not alone. My current strategy is to stick to the Security Updates only. Let's see how long it takes before W10 force-feeding becomes a "security" issue.

I installed this update on Windows 7. Office 2000 components no longer work. Uninstalled it. Back to normal.

I am also a bit perturbed because I spent about an hour of my time researching the darn thing :banghead: and I can't find any reason to install this update which came to me as an optional update.

A couple of months ago I received an "important" update for Windows 10 which I do not have.

I still don't trust it. With all the effort MSpy is making with Win 10, why would they take the time to fix a non-security related bug now that Win 7 is in extended report. I smell a furry little rodent.
