Seriously, I do not understand why MS is doing what they are doing. Does their survival depend on how many people they get to run 10? Are they just being draconian because they can be? There's something obviously going on behind the scenes, be it because of potential data gathering revenue or something else that will transpire down the road perhaps.
But MS, you should really think hard about your strong-arm tactics. When you try to sneak in an update any way possible, of course people are going to suspect something and talk. Even if you have nothing to hide, it is inevitable people will wonder what's going on. How can you expect people NOT to wonder with the list of tactics you've used in the past months?
A simple question....why the cloak & dagger about the contents of updates as well as the force fed update to 10? Why not a plain & simple choice of "No Thanks" or "Yes?"
I have 10 on one of my partitions as well as 8.1, and although I use 10 occasionally, I prefer to use 7, that's my choice. Let me have that choice. I paid for 7, let me choose to keep it if I want.
