From the rumors I was hearing (reading), I would have said no. What I've seen so far has raised it to a slight possibility. It will have to be spectacularly better than Win 7 for me to get over the flat, dimensionless graphics, especially since I'm quite satisfied with Win 7.

I believe the Admin John has it running as his main machine and all good for him.

It does seem stable, i have it on a laptop and VirtualBox VM and they are both running great (even better when there are compatible guest additions for VB)

If people do not like it, and did not participate they have no right to complain in my opinion. With windows 8, opinions were made-microsoft just did not listen. Doing scans on everything now system images to follow win-10 a little later possibly tomorrow not in any hurry :/

Too lazy. I prefer not to be a first adopter so I'll just learn from you all. To be honest, it will have to be pretty spectacular to get me to bother with upgrading. Not to mention a lot could change between now and when it comes out for keeps.

I've installed Win10 preview this morning and should I say, I really dislike it.

1. They make me login with some email during the setup phase, without my agreement.
2. They want my phone (can avoid), and put all my stuff on their cloud (can avoid) like I'm using not a desktop version (which in 80% of time will be the only MS OS a person will use) but some version of Android (where you can easily use the system with no account at all).
3. Flat UI is ugly and the icons they've made so far doesn't associate really well and help. You can see for yourself easily by opening Devices and Printers in one half of the desktop, and My Devices in the other. Or System information as well.
4. It seems one won't be able to pin software to the start menu if he hates metro, like I do.
5. Folders in Win10 have an ugly Office10 interface.
6. Getting back to the flat UI. Icons in start menu are completely messed up, due to the same used colours in most of them. It makes you read all the signs to figure out which to choose, rather then look at its icon.
7. God, what they've done with Network Sharing menu. You have to click through so many subparts of it when everything could've been on 1 screen. 1 Menu, that simply shows you, your ipconfig. Great, it's still easier to just Win+R - cmd => Ipconfig /all than this.

Disapointed too much, during the announcement I really have hoped for it to be something better then Win7 I have now.

1.) They do not make you login with an email, (its hidden and downright annoying, but you can create a local account during setup.) I sent feedback regarding this. You should too. Click new microsoft account, then click create local account. Stupid I know.

2.) I hate cloud as well, but like you said you can avoid it.

3.) Agreed. I hate the ugly fisher price looking icons. I hate the flatness and they are just plain ugly. Some icons look nice though, but most do not.

4.) Nope, you can pin absolutely anything and everything to the start menu, just like windows 8. Difference is the option is there for people who liked the start screen and for people who like the actual menu.

7.) Agreed. I also hate how the only icon in the system tray that brings out the sliding metro screen is the network icon. Why? It does not match with the rest of the interface theme. Volume and everything else pops up down there, where you click it. Network icon pops this huge bar from the side for no reason at all, (just like in 8) and takes more clicks to do stuff. Just make it like 7 where it shows a little window showing your connected and how etc.

1. Yeah, I definitely will, it makes literally no sense at all.
2. That is simply to mention the fact, that you have the whole cloud thing bound to you. I've nothing against the whole idea, but putting my stuff to their servers? No thanks. :/
3. I feel that the whole reason why icons exist in the first place - to be easily recognisable and reduce search time, was lost here basically to follow the overall system design.
4. I really meant the fact, that I like how I can pin my software to the top of the Start menu list, not in acid coloured titles.
7. Exactly, we had all the screen resolution improvements through years to have more information on the screen, more text, but in the end I feel like sitting in front of a huge tablet.

I know, Microsoft can improve later on after getting all the required feedback, but honestly I've expected more from the project.
