Do you think you will upgrade to Windows 10?

I did a clean install using ISO on a hot sway ssd and had no problems. Went very quick.

I'm still working on searching for things that I like handy for use. (1 tick away). I still don't know why icon short cut on a desktop is a bad thing.

Haven't decide on the menu yet; trying both ways. I'm trying the little flat pictures but can't seem to remember which picture does what.
The pictures will probable go away when they fix the font size in the Start Menu.
Last night I tried to get Windows Media Player to work and gave up. I can't get it to play music or movie DVD's.

I try to always keep in mind that W-10 is a bare bones beta. Hopefully Microsoft will take a look at the feed back they are getting and things will just be great at the end.

As of now I have no idea whether I would by W-10 or not.

I going to reboot into W-10 now and do some more tinkering.

Being older than dirt (Met Rex Allen in person) and having no issues with Win 7 I'll just sit here on the sidelines to read and watch everyone's posts.

If it goes to a cloud OS you won't find me there. I'll be sitting here dragging up the rear.

You should try it Dennis, I'm typing this post from Windows 10 running in VMware. OK I've only had it installed for the last 2 days so I'm still finding my way around but I like it.

Well, I installed it and have not spent a lot of time with it but so far I like it very much.

Even used Internet Explorer and gmail.

Then the learning started. I'm still learning things here and there. Don't expect miracles on a very early release of W-10. Microsoft is learning and we are trying to help get what many of us want put into the system. Microsoft is now giving choices on may things in W-10 which again is all most of us really wanted.

Believe it or not, I installed W-7 for the first time back in May of 2012. I had never seen W7 since I didn't know anyone who had it.

Now I have 4 W-7 computers. My Win 10 is sharing a SSD with one of my W-7 computers. No more computers for me.

I have it installed in a VM on this machine and clean installed on another machine with Windows 7. So far, I haven't had much time to play with it, but don't see anything much to complain about other than how it works is foreign to me. Most of us would much prefer what we are used to, but for basically an Alpha release, I must say it seems to be doing well. Hopefully, once we get used to it, we will all like it much better than we do now.

Kudos to you Wolf, on 2 counts: acknowledging the great Rex Allen and putting down the cloud. I'm with you on both.

Meeting Rex doesn't make you old---he's been gone less than 15 years, even though he is almost totally forgotten as a singer. Few people in Nashville would even know who he was.

I'll upgrade just to stay semi-current and get longer support, subject to these caveats:

1: It isn't hopelessly tied into a Microsoft account or subscriptions or the dreaded cloud. Just give me a retail disc that can be re-installed at will on any single machine.

2: It doesn't have any as yet unknown show-stoppers, which is unlikely now that it isn't so touch screen-centric.

I've got the Tech Preview burned to a disc, but I doubt I'll ever install it. I don't have enough curiosity when there are tens of thousands of guinea pigs willing to leap into the breach on my behalf.

I sure like it.

All I have added to 10 are my browser and my file manager. Nothing else.

Using it's security software and not even using my firewall.

I just wish I had more time to play with it.

:roflmao: While I don't fully agree with your assessment of Win 10 (currently, my only objections with Win 10 are cosmetic—too flat and plain looking—and no significant enough improvements over Win 7 to make me want to upgrade), I love the way you put it. You do have a way with words!
