What kind of telemetry is in Windows 7 Pro?

I've read that various updates to Windows 7 enable telemetry. I'd like to know what level of telemetry this is. According to this Microsoft page, there are 3 options for telemetry in Windows 10: Basic, Enhanced, and Full.

Does anyone know what level of telemetry is enabled in Windows 7 - is it Basic, Enhanced, or Full? If it's Basic, then maybe I can live with that, and not bother trying to uninstall a bunch of updates.

It`s getting your PC ready for windows 10, if you don`t want 10, you should remove the unneeded updates.

In win-7 all one needs to do is open this from the start menu search,
Change Customer Experience Improvement Program settings
See if the box is checked and if so uncheck it if you want too.

Other programs have similar options excluded from the above but windows in general is suppose to comply with the above choice.

Is it really that simple to turn off all telemetry in Windows 7? Why do I see so many people posting huge lists of updates that need to be uninstalled, if all you have to do is uncheck one box?

Hi,
All of the newer updates may or may not abide by that setting
If you read the newer updates they are supposed too.

Also as I stated every program has separate options for user data sending so that only applies to windows in general and not Office or any other windows newer program like windows essentials = photo gallery.....
They have separate setting
Not to mention other third party programs have their own data usage sending options.

Otherwise people just do not see the need for the newer updates
They are in fact recommended not important depending on how one windows update settings are set
I use these and only mainly focus on the real Important updates

Doing this does not stop all the B/S from Microsoft. We wish it did.
That is why their is so many post on stopping W-10 stuff and unwanted KB's.
One has to keep a constant watch on what Microsoft is trying to install their computers.

Yeah, that's why I asked my original question about what level of telemetry does Windows 7 have. If it's just "Basic", then it wouldn't be THAT bad because it's not sending back memory dumps that potentially contain personal data to Microsoft. If it's "Enhanced" or "Full", then it would be bad. Unfortunately you can't select that like you can in Windows 10.

Microsoft doesn't even say that on this page. For the "Enhanced" telemetry option, they say "This option also lets us collect diagnostic data that includes the memory state of your device when a system or app crash occurs, which may unintentionally include parts of a document you were working on when a problem occurred."

For the "Full" telemetry option, they say "Microsoft will randomly select a small number of devices, from those at the Full level and exhibiting the problem, from which to gather all of the data needed to diagnose and fix the problem (including user content that may have triggered the issue). If an error report contains personal data, we won’t use that information to identify, contact, or target advertising to you."

Can you imagine the system resources/ internet bandwidth... that also takes to function
Which is really the nut of the problem or concerns really.
Most crashes and issues can usually be tied to a recommended/ Optional windows update same as all of these telemetry updates are along with many useless to me new fonts.........
