The optional updates above appear to add telemetry functions to the system. Do these updates serve any purpose related to Win 10? Is it recommended to install these updates?Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3068708)

I haven't installed any Win 10 upgrade updates and I don't want to install these if they are related to upgrading to Win 10.

I did find a started task that will at least get rid of the "Get Win 10" ... for now.
Task Scheduler Library -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Setup ->GWX - disable "launchtrayprocess" and log off/on and it goes away.
As of today.
No problem Lady F
It'll be around 3 pages long when July comes around!![]()

Hate to ask, but received these today. Any feedback yet? KB313 3977, 7061, 8901 and 9923
Since, I dual boot with Linux. So, I use Grub. When Grub is installed. Windows 10 will not install or upgrade to a new release, it will actually rollback. I think the reason W10 can't get access to MBR. So every new release, I would have to remove grub, install release, then restore grub back.

Wow, is this really true? If so it could be the answer to many people's prayer! Install GRUB - who knew?
I'll have to try this -
- Install Win7,
- Make a 10GB unallocated partition
- Install Linux with GRUB (Linux Mint for example)
- No more Win10 update worries!
I'll try it this weekend.

UPDATE
OK, first idea needed modification - deleting Linux not a good idea.
Soooo, has anyone used GRUB2WIN? It sounds like it should work. Perhaps I'll try that first.
