Win-10 manages ssd's a lot better than win-7 does this is the bottom line
A system with less ram is more dependent on a page file than one with more ram

I'd go with my 16gb's of ram setting which was 200mb's and 1024mb's for the 32gb's ram system
I'd also turn off system protection for all drives that will stop windows from writing and rewriting windows system restore points

Use Macrium reflect to make restore points called system images instead they are 100% more reliable and save them to a external or internal hdd

While I've had to use System Restore only a couple of times over the years, I kind of like the mental comfort it gives when doing updates, program installs, and the like. I use CCleaner to remove all the old ones.

I do use Macrium Reflect Pro for my backups. Like most folks, though, I don't backup as much as I should I think when I'm done with this post I do a backup Thanks for the reminder!

Heck if you have Reflect pro you can do incremental images at the speed of light

I'd love to try incremental
Although full images is pretty straight forward in the free version I usually just uncheck the deferential seeing it restricts how many you can create so it states on the dialog.

Advantage of incremental is in how long it takes to create one

With Incrementals if any incremental becomes corrupt, every incremental after that in the "chain" is unusable.

With Differentials, each differential is based on the Full backup, so newer differentials do not depend on any previous differential.

I didn't know there is a restriction on the number of Differentials that can be created.
I've created up to 4-5 Diffs without a problem, and by then i'm ready for a new Full image.
I don't use Macrium Retention Rules, i manage by backups and space manually.

Yea that is what it says up to 4 diff's and 12 full :/
I too just create a new folder for each new full image and later just delete an older one to save space.

Those settings can be changed in the Menu / Other Tasks / Edit Defaults / Retention Rules

I always have everything unchecked, i just checked Differential in this screen print to show what i'm trying to say

Yup, the default is 4, but can be changed.
I uncheck everything because i don't want Macrium to ever auto delete any of my backups.
I would rather get an "out of space" error, so i can manually decide what to keep and what to delete.

I don't have any specific plan on deleting the backups, but getting low on space does prompt me to delete some. Anything close to a year old gets deleted. But now I'm putting them on an external drive, so I have 'space galore', LOL. Still, a year old sounds like a good delete point.
