Stuck at black screen after "Windows is loading files"

I see, because 2 passes took like 5 hours, but anywayd ill do that, i wonder tho, what is memtest exactly?

Yes mate like I said it is very tedious and is best run overnight.

Now just supposing you have say three sticks and four slots and you get errors with all sticks in the slots. You then need to test each stick separately in number 1 slot again to find out which if the three sticks is bad. If the three sticks test out ok then you need to test a good stick in each of the slots you have been using because it can be that a slot on the board is bad.

The way it works is in that link I sent -

Memtest86 and Memtest86+ are memory test software programs designed to test and stress test an x86 architecture computer's random access memory (RAM) for errors. Each tries to verify that the RAM will accept and correctly retain ARBITARY patterns of data written to it, that there are no errors where different bits of memory interact, and that there are no conflicts between memory addresses.

Okay if there was 0 errors with 8 passes whats the deal? So i can look forward of what i have to do.
Anyways, ill maybe get it to a repair shop.
Oh and one more thing; i ran hard drive test, and the remaning time was like 4 hours, after like 3 minutes; it said that the test cannot check the hard drive and that i need to replace it.
I then ran a memory test, memory diagnostic test too. 0 errors.
Ill run the memtest now.
Cheers m8=

Ok mate if there is no errors then it is then just tracking down the other components that just might be bad.

The hard drive well if you are getting a message to say it is bad then it will have to be replaced. Just out of curiosity what hard drive test did you use and how did you hook it up to another machine to test??

Now if the original hard drive is bad then whatever HP put on it will be probably unusable especially the factory restore partition which could have been used to take the machine back as when it came out of the factory.

If it were me I would be doing this before I start anything on that hard drive if you have data ie pics and docs that you need to save.

BOOTABLE UBUNTU
Make a bootable Ubuntu disk Get Ubuntu | Download | Ubuntu
Set the BIOS to boot from the optical when the machine boots it will show you a screen with TRY or INSTALL > select TRY not INSTALL
When it is finished - it takes very little time you will get a screen like in the pic .
Open the drive you want > User and dig down until you get to the data / settings you may be able to copy / paste the material you want to an external source or other installed drive doing this.
I am not sure if it will but I have recovered tons of data etc using this method both on "dead" or just plain drives that you cannot get data from using Windows.

Edit: I should have mentioned this fix does not involve running Windows

Ok now why Enterprise - is this a work machine?? The best option for me was that Ubuntu boot on the machine and hook the drive to the machine via a dock or SATA to USB adaptor to access that drive.
