Windows 7 Ultimate Product Key, switching hard drive

I have an older PC with Windows 7 Ultimate, and I need to switch hard drives.
Will it still work if I download Windows 7 Ultimate and install it using this product key? Or Microsoft no longer support it, and it will not detect it?

Btw, is there any chance I can still upgrade to Windows 10? :shock:

As long as you have a valid product key then you should have no problems.

Windows 10, you had a year to do it, now it's too late unless you want to pay.

Ty! And I forgot to mention in my question 1 more thing: Is Windows 7 bound to motherboard like Windows 10, or you can simply install it wherever you wish? Btw, if I install it now, does it automatically deactivate the installation on the old hdd, or I should see a prompt?

If you have an oem copy of Windows 7 (came on a prebuilt machine) then it is tied to your motherboard, if you have a retail copy then you can install in on any hardware you like.

Oh yes, I've now seen it(It is an OEM): I tried to download Windows 7 from msft website, and it told me that there's a problem with my product key, I guess that's because I'm trying to download it from another PC using this prodct key?

I am planning on installing it on the same motherboard, only downloading it on a different PC

I just wonder: Why would they provide free ISO's? maybe they can put bloatware and stuff we can't see? I mean it's not directly from microsoft..? What do they get from it by giving us those helpful downloads?

Many 3rd party entities provide ISOs as a service, many without bloatware and PUPs.

The link provided is from M$, don't worry. The download will be SP1. Use the COA key to install
I suggest you to buy a 128G SSD. Install Win 7 on the SSD and \Users on the HDD. You have no idea of what improvements a SSD can make on your desktop.
