just bought an acer revo r3700 from ebay and want to make sure the windows is genuine on it

it does have an COA on the revo the last set on numbers match on whats below

reason i'm asking is that i'm trying to update windows but it just wants to keep searching for updates, been like that for a good few hours

To fix your Update issue, follow these instructions exactly.
First, set Windows Updates to never check for Updates.
Next reboot your computer, then install KB3020369, if not installed.
Then install KB3172605.

Windows updates should return to normal. You can then reset your updates to automatically check for updates if desired

still, interesting about it saying the model is Veriton N280G

the box & on the case has R3700

Are you currently showing the Genuine flag in Control Panel System, i suspect it is, just want to confirm.
Has it got any Updates since SP1 was installed ??

Its possible its a rebranded model

Hi PBCopter,

WU has more than 1 requirement to work, the OP had 3 incorrect paramaters, showing in his report, which would have caused it not to update, not just the buggy updates MS issued and then patched, allthough this IS the major factor.

I listed in my last post what those errors were.

In Post #4 the OP indicated he got WU to work as indicated in his post below before the other errors were fixed. However, I'm glad he was able to resolve the disparity error with his model.
