Solved 2 problems with System Image Disc creation

I have tried creating a 99GB System Image Disc on a 128GB USB flash drive on my WIN7 laptop and my wife's WIN10 laptop. Each time I start the process it gets to a certain point and tells me to insert media with at least 1GB of available space. Knowing the 128GB flash drive has more than enough space I just click on ok and the process starts all over until it gets to that certain point and the same thing happens. This happened several times and I finally gave up and decided to create the image on a 1TB USB hard drive.

Using the USB hard drive the process completed but when I tried to check the image I could see it using file manager but the backup and recovery program would not recognize it so even though it was there I could not use it to repair my computer if it did crash.

Any help with either of these problems would be appreciated very much as I have 4 other machines that need images created.

Thanks for the information ThrashZone. I will get macrium right away and I will make sure I create the winpe recovery as you mentioned. Would be a crying shame to have the image disc and not be able to use it.

Also, if I use one of my 1TB USB external hard drives can I create images for multiple machines on a single drive or would it be better if I stick with the 128GB flash drives and use one for each machine?

Thanks again,
Clyde

Hi,
I think you should make two backup.
One for OS (as small as you can) and one for datas.
To Manage a 100gb image is not an easy and painless task !

Hi,
Flash drive have a higher failure rate than external hdd's so I personally would lean towards an external hdd :)
