how to restore my Program Files to my start menu ?

Dear forum members,

Today, I deleted alot of files because my computer is overloaded.
But, now I can't see my Program Files at my start menu.

I tried to go to the Program Files at my C: and click on the folder and click on the search/view option.

However, I did the tick on the display hidden files and also always show menus.

It just won't appear on the start menu no matter what I ticked on the boxes.

Hope someone can advise me.

Hi tangara, welcome to the Forum.

This is what happens when you randomly delete files. Were the Program files still showing on you C drive?.

You could try a System Restore. To do that open Control Panel & select Back Up & Restore. When that opens look under Restore & click on Recover System Settings on your Computer, when that opens click on Open System Restore. If you have some restore points showing select one that is before you did ant deleting.

I take you have no recent, current, OS and Data backups? If none, going forward, please begin and continue making routine OS and Data partition full image backups onto external media; especially just before much pruning or adding.

When you're messing around with your PC and you screw something up, you have just a few methods for recovery.
The first thing to try is a System Restore, that is if you or someone else has not turned that feature OFF.
That failing, you can restore your last C: drive backup, and that's assuming, of course, that you make backups of your C: drive on a regular basis.

Which reminds me, I've not done mine yet this week.

Hi,

Your suggestion to do routine OS and Data partition full image backups is new to me.
Could you advise how do I go about doing it ?
Any tutorial or youtube video I can follow to learn this trick ?
