Friends,

I am running Windows 7 Home Basic 64 bit on my PC. I did a clean install of the OS just 7 days ago. Everything seems to be working fine. All drivers also seem to be working well. But I can not hear sound in any of the installed browsers ie IE 11, Chrome and Firefox. All other sounds are there. Its only when I go online and try to visit sites such as YouTube etc that the sound just stops playing. The entire system is fully updated including the OS, apps, paid 3rd party internet security suite and the 3 earlier mentioned browsers as well, but I have no clue as to why this issue has come up in the first place. I always do a clean install of Windows 7 on this very PC at least 3 times a year.

I re-installed the audio drivers just to make sure, but to no avail. Can you please suggest me something. Java and Flash player are installed and updated.

Thanks.

If your sound works in general, then it must be about settings.
See if "Hardware and sound and system sounds" brings you to a resolve.
See if the sound mixer letting you hear sounds for browsers and etc.

Its only when I go online and try to visit sites such as YouTube etc that the sound just stops playing.
Did you mean that the sound stops playing at some point in video? (was playing, then stopped)
Or does it not play from the beginning?

Tried both, but to no avail.

When I posted the 1st time, there was no sound at all whenever I played videos on YouTube in all the 3 browsers, but now it seems that in some videos sound plays while in some it does not. Ran sfc /scannow command as admin, and did a reboot, but even that did not work either.

I must repeat that - Its only when I go online and try to visit sites such as YouTube etc that the sound just stops playing. Offline all the sounds play. Please guide me this is really annoying. I have so far tried a few tricks after going through similar threads on this very subject, but I have only had bad luck each time I tried a trick. Thanks
