This is the error I rec'd. Note: I did pull out a usb drive and reseat it after the error occurred and before I ran the ipconfig in the cmd window. However, I have seen this type of error before. How do I fix it?

The system detected an address conflict for IP address 192.168.1.3 with the system having network hardware address D0-4D-2C-F7-71-7F.
Network operations on this system may be disrupted as a result.

Welcome to the forum. It should be simple to fix if you run ipconfig /all you should find the PC with that hardware address and it may well be set to static IP simply set it to dhcp

I do not see that address in the ipconfig info. I logged onto my router and found the MAC address under the ARP Table but I can't figure out what the "network hardware address D0-4D-2C-F7-71-7F" is relating to.

By the way, thank you for your fast response and attention to my post. I was also wondering what does "Tunnel adapter Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface:" relate to? That showed up in the Ipconfig.

I just noticed in the Web activity log that the only ip address with 192.168.1.3 is listed as api-global.netflix.com as well as austin.logs.roku.com. I am not sure if the error has resolved itself or not.

The Mac address for that device comes back as Roku, Inc.

Try turning it off for a few minutes and reconnect it.

If that does not work shut down your router for about 10 15 seconds and restart it, hopefully that will clear out all the DHCP leases.

In case anyone is interested in looking up their own devices I used this site:

This tool is very handy as it shows everything on the network NetBScanner - NetBIOS scanner

Unfortunatly it will not show everything,

From the developers site

NetBIOS scan uses UDP port 137 to send and receive the NetBIOS data
Linux, Android, Routers, (probably) Apple and more devices do not use NetBIOS unless if possible you install it yourself.

I have 11 devices on my local network and it only picked up 2 computers that are running Windows.

If you can find the free version of Sofperfect network scanner it would detect all devices as long as you tweak the settings.

Edit:
I just tried this scanner and it detected all my devices without tweaking, I did not install it you have the option to run it without installing.

Sorry I have not responded sooner. I have been on vacation. When I logged on today I got the same error and looked it up. It lead me to my original post here that I forgot about. It is definitely the Roko box which has netflix on it. Thanks "samuria" for the link to the NetBIOS scan. It only found one address.
I then used the Sofperfect network scanner that "sml156" suggested. Thank you. I had unplugged the Roku box and plugged it back in before using. Here is the printout from that - it is the 2nd image-SoftPerfect. However, it does not tell me what device is using the addresses.
Then I looked up the other link that "sml156" also suggested - Advanced Port Scanner. That is the first image-Advanced Port.
That gave me the name of the device along with the IP address. You can see on there that the pc and Roku now have separate ip addresses.
So, here is what I know and a question of how to prevent: I know that if the Roku box is on and hooked up to the network that I will have trouble with my laptop trying to use the same IP address. My question is: how do I prevent this from happening without having to unplug the Roku box, then plug it back in? (Somewhere in the back of my mind I think I may have set a static address for my ActionTec Router. I will check that.)
Thank you to all who input on this which helped me to at least figure out how to deal with it.

The setting that I changed on the Router was the Network Channel. I changed it from Auto Detect to channel 11. I am going to put it back on Auto Detect and see if that helps.

I also noticed this in the Advanced Settings. Not sure if I set DHCP Reservation or if it was done automatically. I will attach a screen shot.

I am a firm believer on giving my devices a static IP or in your case a reserved IP on your router, it makes it easier to remember what is what when scanning.

Not sure what device that is in your last pic the mac address comes up as unknown. But anyway When I give my devices a static IP I do not use the same IP's that router gives out.

EG:

All my devices that I want a static IP I will give them from say 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.20

I then go into the router and change what IP's it hands out to 192.168.1.21 to 192.168.1.254

I use the same theory whether it's reserved by the router or entering it manually on the device.

It helps to stop conflicts.
