My Startup used to be about 90sec to 2min. About 2 months ago it took longer and longer to get through to where I could start using it. Now it stands at 5+ minutes.

I've done EVERYTHING that has been suggested on this site and others- no help. I've tried to fix the problem and educate myself at the same time. Nothing has worked, I've rebooted at least a dozen times after each solution that was suggested. Any help is GREATLY appreciated...

This happened to me when one of the usb ports had aged and the electrical contact had become weak, causing the driver to load super slowly. I would try booting with no usb devices attached except for the keyboard, which should be moved to a different port.

Lets do the basic fist.

Open a CMD window.
Type chkdsk c: /f
It will say that the disk is in use and if you want to schedule for next start = Yes

Pay attention on the results, specially bad blocks or bad clusters.

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately it did not help. Same- 6+ minutes to load. It seems like it's trying to scan something, but I have very minimal "Startup" programs loaded.

Did go on to steps 2 & 3, but I did not record that info- sorry.

Another thing to try is run Autoruns and post the ARN file. Autoruns for Windows - Windows Sysinternals | Microsoft Docs

If you don't have very many startup items then this may not be the issue. But it's worth a shot.
Thanks for the reply. I checked Autoruns before, not many Startup items, so I didn't think that was the problem.

However, not sure where I could find the ARN file so I could post it here. Could you point me in the right direction? Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

This now has become interesting, my NORMAL Boot Time (before I can start using the computer w/o "lag" time ) is now 7+ minutes. When I Boot in Safe Mode, it's about 95 seconds (1 1/2 minutes). WOW!!
