Best browser for Windows 7 64-bit

Hi guys! am new here. Please tell me how to make links of IE 8 open in full-sized window? I have no problems when I open IE itself, but links in taskbar refuseto open in full... Thank you!

1) Right-click on the IE shortcut
2) Choose Properties
3) In the Run field (dropdown box, under Shortcut Key), choose Maximized.

I'm may have misread your post when I answered before, so, just to cover the bases:
If you mean that the icons that are 'pinned' to the taskbar, here, they will open maximised only if they are maximised the last time I closed them.

I'm currently using Firfox 3.5.3 as well and haven't really had the issues the OP mentioned. I'll admit to not having watched many videos, but I haven't experienced any crashes and I don't really see any slowness, but maybe it's just me.

Completely agree with Madidus; used to love Firefox back in the day but in the last few months its hogged a lot of memory and crashed on me a number of times. I dont even use extensions. I got fed up and went to Chrome and wow, I'm loving it! Never had a crash, love the quick performance and simple look.

For reference I just ran AcidTest3 on the three browsers that are installed on this work laptop. See pics for results :)

InternetLord,

i figured i would test minefield tomorrow. all ready downloaded it.:D
I keep multiple browsers installed, because I have never found a browser that is perfect for all situations. Opera 10 is my primary, but when I went to find Firefox Minefield, I found Firefox Shiretoko instead. I haven't used it any except for once or twice, but it does seem alot faster than Minefield.

Windows 7, have yet to reinstall :)
sorry chrome is fine if you want a browser with almost no features.
I made Chrome my default browser so when I'm reading my e-mail and I have to click on a link, it comes up fast. A few days ago I compared Chromes cold load time to Opera 10 and found that they both load cold in about 8 seconds on my XPsp3 system. Chrome is too sparce for me to enjoy, so I made Opera my default now and like it better. For my every day browsing I like FF the best (once it loads after 17 seconds). Looking forward to Win 7 in a few months.:)

you really should upodate your os. this is a win 7 forum after all. i have about 30 firefox addons and when i launch it in win 7 it takes 6 to 8 seconds and my home page is up.

EDIT:

i lied. after doing a few about:config tweaks even with 6 utorrent downloads going it only takes me less than 1.5 seconds to reach my home page.:D

I wish I knew your secret. Does your FF load so fast because you're using Win7, or you have much more total RAM than 1GB? I have tweeked FF the best I know how but it's still slow on a cold start. You are talking about cold starts right? My subsequent starts during the same boot up are about 3 seconds.

Though in the latest Developer builds (not sure about the beta) there is extensions available. :)

Yeah, you can change skins for one. It needed that feature.

Yep. They are not easy to make though. Every time someone makes a application to build a theme, it breaks with the next release (incompatible theme file).

I plan to switch back to Chrome after seeing my friends next theme for firefox on the 31st.

WOW! Lots of opinions here.

Fire fox, Opera, Chrome...Whats the best!

Really none of them. They all have their flws just like the mack daddy of them all

Internet Explorer

I find that adding more browsers just mucks things up. I have been a die hard Microsoft fan for 20 years.

I check up on these companies regularly but nothing really comes close to IE.

If you like your browser then that browser is best for "you".

IE is best for me.
