Solved Annoying pop up ad

Since a couple days ago this annoying popup ad started to slide in from bottom right of my screen.
I am using Google Chrome browser.

I then did the usual:

1) Checked for some strange extension installed and found nothing;
2) Checked to see if ad-blocker was active and it is;
3) Ran Spybot to check if there was some adware and found nothing.

I use Avast and ZoneAlarm and both are up to date.

Any idea?

two ideas:

1
within chrome, go to this address in the address bar:
chrome://settings/cleanup
press enter
click find

2
do start button > run > appwiz.cpl > press enter
click on "installed date" to sort by date
see if there are any programs recently installed that might be causing this, and uninstall them

A couple minutes ago I was in Photoshop editing a photo and suddenly the pop-up slide into it, so I am not sure that it is a browser thing anymore. Maybe it's a Windows thing (browser was running but minimized)... Anyway, it's similar to the Facebook notifier - that by the way - is another annoying thing that appeared without I ask for.

Thank you, I checked them both.

1) Chrome didn't find anything...
2) I found that on *May, 15* I have a new install of Chrome and Acrobat Reader DC. I suspect that they were automatic updates and that have nothing to do with the issue...

I just tried it and it didn't work. I disabled (by enabling) pop up notifications, automatic promotion and advertisement. Here it goes a screenshot of those stupid pop-ups.

Not sure what to make of the pic, but I bet by hitting the gear icon next to the X it will show some settings that could give a clue as to what this is.

So... I already had tried it but it didn't help too much as I didn't find any option to disable the nasty pop-up. Anyway, here it goes a screenshot!

Notes: If I move the lever where there is the text "Blocked" it will change to "Ask before sending (recommended)". Actually it was on this position and so I moved it to "Blocked". It didn't change anything.

OK, guys, I figured it out.

I had already been in the notifications page before to ensure that the url of the site from where these pop-ups were coming were in the block list. It was so I couldn't understand why it still was coming.

Anyway, today I checked it again but this time I scrolled a bit more down and... at the very bottom I found an "allowed list" (that I never had noticed before) with a single entry. Guess which one? Yup, the evil site!

So, it was in both lists (blocked and allowed) and the allowed was overriding the blocked. It was just to remove it from the allowed list and the damn thing stopped!

Chrome is rated at 6.5/10 in privacy and security

Firefox is rated as 9.5/10 and is much better.

Well, I don't 'LOVE' Chrome. I just use it. In fact I think that the majority of browsers is horrible. Thank you for your feedback, I will try the current Firefox.

But if you are stuck with Chrome, as I am with my online work, you can mimimize the spying in the Settings. (For everything else I use FF) They hide their settings in the right-hand corner, hoping you won't bother with them. And there are no ads if you use Ublock Origin.

megahertz07--it doesn't have to load on startup; you have it set that way, either in msconfig>Startup Tab, the Startup folder or in the program settings.
