I use "CMD your computer (2015)" by Cask J. Thomson. This covers the History and is right up to date with CMD commands that have been implemented since MS-DOS 6, and some depreciated features. Admittedly, it says very little about programming Batch files.

I have no idea what is inside of DG's books -- I just remembered emailing him years ago, during my WFW3.11 days (I think), sent him a sample of one of my batch-files, he gave a compliment
