I'm trying to return my Samsung notebook running Windows 7 back to factory settings. I open up the Samsung Recovery Solutions 5 program and click on Complete Restore but there is not backup option. I can't select the initial status to return to. I then tried to download a reboot of Windows 7 and when I put in my product key it told me I cannot go through microsoft, I have to go through Samsung's software. How do I access my computer's initial status to restore it? Thank you in advance.

You would be looking for a restore option. I will see if I can recall the procedure. Do you have a previously created backup image?

What is the current state of the os? Is it working ok?

What edition, bit version and language is it?

It is running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. It's very slow. I've attached an image of where the backup containing the computer's factory settings should be.

In that situation, I would use dism++ to export the drivers from your current system somewhere safe, backup the activation , then copy the entire dism++ folder somewhere safe (e.g. a usb stick).

View attachment Dism++10.1.1001.10.zip

Then reinstall using downloaded windows 7 iso.

It looks like at some time previously you may have deleted the hidden recovery partition :(

    I also have W7 Pro on my System Two, and several W7 Hyper-V VMs. My other machines run Windows 10/11. Their specs are in my Ten Forums & Eleven Forum profiles.
